Near-surface Site Characterization Based on Joint Iterative Analysis of First-arrival and Surface-wave Data

Zhinong Wang et al.

Summary: In this paper, a near-surface site characterization method based on the joint iterative analysis of first-arrival and surface-wave data (JIAFS) is proposed. The method combines the advantages of first-arrival traveltime tomography (FATT) and multichannel analysis of surface waves (MASW) to establish accurate near-surface velocity and Poisson's ratio models under complex geological conditions.

A Fiber Bragg Grating accelerometer with cantilever beam

Lirong Jiang et al.

Summary: A cantilever beam fiber Bragg grating accelerometer is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. By changing the base structure, the effective length of the fiber is reduced to increase the sensitivity. Structural parameters are optimized through numerical simulations and the characteristics of the accelerometer are simulated using finite element simulations. Experimental results show that the accelerometer has a high resonant frequency and sensitivity, as well as good immunity to interference.

Miniature bending-resistant fiber grating accelerometer based on a flexible hinge structure

Lei Liang et al.

Summary: A miniaturized fiber Bragg grating accelerometer based on flexible hinges is proposed in this paper to meet the special requirements for the size and quality of accelerometers in vibration monitoring. The accelerometer utilizes a flexible hinge as an elastic body and achieves miniaturization through a suspended arc package. The bending-resistant optical fiber grating effectively solves the issue of light loss in arc-shaped packaging. The experimental results demonstrate that the prepared accelerometer has excellent performance in terms of size, mass, and sensing characteristics, making it suitable for medium and low frequency vibration monitoring in narrow spaces.
