Joint Service Quality Control and Resource Allocation for Service Reliability Maximization in Edge Computing

Wenyu Zhang et al.

Summary: Edge computing is a widely-used approach for providing low-latency computation services. This study proposes a novel Logistic function-based model for estimating service reliability probability in edge computing scenarios with stochastic resource demands. An alternative optimization algorithm is proposed to solve the average service reliability maximization problem by jointly optimizing service quality ratios and resource allocations. Simulation results show that the proposed method achieves similar performance as a convex optimization algorithm, but with lower complexity, and improves service reliability compared to a baseline weighted allocation method.

Next-Generation Multiple Access Based on NOMA With Power Level Modulation

Xinyue Pei et al.

Summary: To address the anticipated explosive traffic growth in next-generation wireless networks, it is crucial to design next-generation multiple access techniques that can offer higher spectral efficiency and larger-scale connectivity. Power-domain non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) has garnered widespread attention as a promising solution. However, conventional power-domain NOMA may limit the spectral efficiency under practical finite alphabet inputs. To overcome this limitation, we propose power selection (PS)-NOMA, inspired by the concept of spatial modulation, which encodes extra information bits into power levels and utilizes different signal constellations to distinguish between users. Simulation results demonstrate the superiority of PS-NOMA over conventional NOMA in terms of bit error rate (BER) and achievable rate.

Resource Allocation in Terrestrial-Satellite-Based Next Generation Multiple Access Networks With Interference Cooperation

Yaomin Zhang et al.

Summary: In this paper, an uplink non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) terrestrial-satellite network is studied. The optimization problem is decomposed into user association, bandwidth assignment, and power allocation sub-problems, each of which is addressed by a proposed algorithm. Finally, a three-stage iterative resource allocation algorithm considering all three sub-problems is proposed.

Performance analysis of overlay cognitive NOMA network with imperfect SIC and imperfect CSI

Haiyan Huang et al.

Summary: In this paper, the authors investigate a multiple users cooperative overlay cognitive radio non-orthogonal multiple access (CR-NOMA) network in the presence of imperfect successive interference cancellation (SIC) and imperfect channel state information (CSI). The research findings demonstrate that the system performance is substantially degraded by imperfect SIC and (or) imperfect CSI.

Optimal power allocation for NOMA-enabled D2D communication with imperfect SIC decoding

Shanshan Yu et al.

Summary: Combining D2D communication with NOMA is an efficient solution to enhance the spectral efficiency and connection density of beyond fifth-generation cellular networks. The paper optimizes power allocation for NOMA-enabled D2D communication, using dual theory and sub-gradient method. The proposed optimization scheme significantly improves the data rate of D2D communication compared to benchmark schemes.
