Detection and localization of fatigue crack using nonlinear ultrasonic three-wave mixing technique

Santhakumar Sampath et al.

Summary: A nonlinear ultrasonic three-wave mixing technique was developed in this study to accurately detect and localize early-stage fatigue cracks. The effectiveness of the proposed technique was validated through experiments with aluminum specimens, and it was found to have higher sensitivity towards fatigue cracks compared to conventional nonlinear ultrasonic techniques.

Ultrasonic Lamb wave mixing based fatigue crack detection using a deep learning model and higher-order spectral analysis

Santhakumar Sampath et al.

Summary: In this study, a hybrid method combining a deep learning model with high-erorder spectral analysis is proposed for reliable fatigue crack detection in noisy environments. The experimental results validate the improved performance of the proposed method.

Experimental investigation of the surface corrosion damage in plates based on nonlinear Lamb wave methods

Xiangyan Ding et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates that early stage damage caused by surface corrosion in thin plates can be evaluated using nonlinear Lamb wave methods. By measuring resonant waves and harmonics, the extent of damage caused by corrosion can be assessed, allowing for characterization of the position and length of the corroded region on the surface.
