Joint optimal pricing and advertising policies in a fashion supply chain under the ODM strategy considering fashion level and goodwill

Qi Chen et al.

Summary: The original design manufacturing (ODM) strategy is popular in the fashion supply chain field. This study investigates the influence of fashion level and advertising effort on goodwill and presents a differential game model involving a fashion brand and a supplier. The introduction of a dynamic wholesale price contract increases design investment, promotion effort, and goodwill towards and demand for the products.

Cooperative advertising and pricing in an O2O supply chain with buy-online-and-pick-up-in-store

Mengli Li et al.

Summary: This paper explores the effectiveness of cooperative advertising in an online-to-offline supply chain, finding that the implementation of BOPS can partially substitute the incentive effect of cooperative advertising. In most cases, the convenience coefficient and commission rate have opposite impacts on optimal decisions, with the optimal strategy depending on the balance of these factors. Additionally, it is revealed that cooperative advertising does not always benefit the O2O supply chain and its members.

Possibilistic cooperative advertising and pricing games for a two-echelon supply chain

Marzieh Mozafari et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the coordination of pricing and cooperative advertising policies in a two-echelon supply chain under the fuzziness of demand function parameters and manufacturing costs. Three decentralized scenarios are introduced based on the players' market power, and equilibrium prices, advertising expenditures, and participation rates are determined using possibilistic game theory concepts and compared with a centralized channel scenario. A numerical example demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed modeling approach, and sensitivity analyses are conducted to measure the impact of demand function parameters and uncertainty levels.

Cooperative Advertising in a Dynamic Three-Echelon Supply Chain

Adrian Patrick Kennedy et al.

Summary: This study proposes a model to evaluate the value of a distributor in a supply chain, finding that the distributor's value added depends on the nature of the demand function for the product. The model suggests that the presence of a distributor can enhance the margins of both the retailer and the manufacturer, and provides explicit conditions for this to occur. Numerical analysis indicates that if the distributor generates significant transportation cost savings, a three-tier supply chain can lead to higher market awareness, lower advertising expenditure, and higher value extracted.

Identification of influencers in online social networks: measuring influence considering multidimensional factors exploration

Yun-Bei Zhuang et al.

Summary: Online social networks have heterogeneous nature, with influencers playing significant roles in various aspects. This paper introduces a multi-dimensional social influence measurement approach, utilizing structure-based, information-based, and action-based factors to assess users' influence. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed framework in evaluating users' influence on both topic-level and global-level within social networks.

Summary: This paper addresses the coordination of pricing, advertising, and production-inventory decisions in a multi-product three-echelon supply chain, considering the dominant power of the manufacturer and the suppliers' oligopoly competition. Two scenarios of competition and cooperation are compared, and analytical and computational analyses are carried out through a numerical example to discuss managerial insights.
