Spatial distribution analysis of seismic activity based on GMI, LMI, and LISA in China

Ziyi Cao et al.

Summary: This article analyzes the spatial distribution of seismic activities in China and finds that earthquakes in China have significant global autocorrelation characteristics and present a spatial agglomeration pattern. Moreover, it observes a reduction trend in disparities of seismic activity among regions in China.

Classification of Urban Pollution Levels Based on Clustering and Spatial Statistics

Ziyi Xu et al.

Summary: This study uses cluster analysis and spatial autocorrelation methods to investigate the spatial and temporal distribution characteristics of severe haze in China, classify regions, and analyze the interaction between haze pollution and the influence of economy and energy structure. The study provides references for the prevention and treatment of haze pollution.

Spatio-temporal analysis of East Asian seismic zones based on multifractal theory

Ziyan Zhang et al.

Summary: This study verified the integrity of the seismic catalog and determined the appropriate minimum magnitude. The region was divided into five areas and multifractal analysis was applied in each partition. The results showed that the earthquake time series had different degrees of growth before major earthquakes and declined afterwards, reflecting the accumulation and release of seismic energy. Additionally, the variation of fractal parameters in time series and spatial distribution indicated a multifractal structure.

Study on spatio-temporal characteristics of earthquakes in southwest China based on z-value

Ziyi Cao et al.

Summary: This study focuses on earthquakes with magnitudes above 3.0 on the Richter scale in southwest China from 1900 to 2013. The spatio-temporal migration characteristics of seismic activity in the area were explored using geostatistics method. The study found that each seismic zone in southwest China had its own quiet period and the time-varying characteristics of seismic frequency in fault belts with the same geological background were roughly consistent.

Impacts of small dams on stream temperature

Peter A. Zaidel et al.

Summary: Research shows that most small dams lead to higher downstream water temperatures, with the majority of warming concentrated near the dam, but some warming effects can persist up to 1.31 km downstream. The impact of dams is influenced by factors such as flow rate, dam length, and ecological surroundings.

Impacts of dams and reservoirs on local climate change: a global perspective

Yiyang Zhao et al.

Summary: The study explores the correlations between reservoir characteristic factors (RCFs) of selected dams and related reservoirs and meteorological variables worldwide, finding complex relationships and differing impacts on different meteorological variables. The research shows that RCFs have a greater impact on precipitation than geographical factors, while evaporation is more sensitive to geographical factors.
