White-light emission lead-free perovskite phosphor Cs2ZrCl6:Sb3+

Changheng Chen et al.

Summary: A white-light-emission phosphor was prepared by doping Sb3+ into Cs2ZrCl6, which showed double emission bands at 495 and 622 nm. The intensity ratios of cyan light and red light emission bands were tunable by adjusting the Sb3+ concentration, with the red component increasing with increasing Sb3+ concentration. The phosphor exhibited a photoluminescence quantum yield of approximately 78% and has potential applications in white-illumination LEDs.

Summary: This study presents the colloidal synthesis of lead-free vacancy-ordered Cs2HfCl6 perovskite NCs using hafnium acetylacetonate as metal precursors and proposes a passivation strategy for sub-bandgap trap states by doping Sb3+ ions. Additionally, the introduction of lanthanide ions enables tunable multicolor emissions in Cs2HfCl6 NCs, providing effective strategies for tuning the optical properties of lead-free vacancy-ordered perovskite NCs.

Vacancy-Ordered Double Perovskite Rb2ZrCl6-xBrx: Facile Synthesis and Insight into Efficient Intrinsic Self-Trapped Emission

Kun Zheng et al.

Summary: Lead-free vacancy-ordered double perovskites Rb2ZrCl6-xBrx with high PLQY of 90% were successfully synthesized using a wet grinding approach. The bright emissions were found to originate from self-trapped excitons, and thermally activated delayed fluorescence was observed in these materials. Additionally, the optical bandgap of Rb2ZrCl6-xBrx decreases linearly with the increase of x component, and density functional theory calculations confirmed highly localized electronic states in these materials.

Electronic structure and stability of Cs2TiX6 and Cs2ZrX6 (X = Br, I) vacancy ordered double perovskites

B. Cucco et al.

Summary: This study investigates the electronic and optical properties of Ti-based and Zr-based compounds, highlighting similarities and limitations in tuning properties within the family of vacancy ordered double perovskites. Challenges in computing accurate quasi-particle corrections at the GW level are also discussed, along with the chemical and mechanical stability of the materials. Cs2ZrI6 is predicted to have a quasi-direct electronic bandgap in the visible range, smallest charge carrier effective masses among Cs2BX6 compounds, and good chemical stability.

Summary: The study investigates the effect of Te4+ doping on the optical properties of lead-free Cs2SnCl6 perovskite variants, revealing the luminescence mechanism and processes induced by Te4+ doping through calculations and spectral analysis. The results show that the emission in Te4+:Cs2SnCl6 originates from STE recombination and is influenced by temperature-induced lattice distortion.
