Gas Sensor Based on ZnO Nanostructured Film for the Detection of Ethanol Vapor

Mikayel Aleksanyan et al.

Summary: In this study, a ZnO target was synthesized using the solid-state reaction method, and a nanostructured thin film was deposited on a Multi-Sensor-Platform using RF magnetron sputtering. The resulting ZnO film showed sensitivity towards ethanol at extremely low concentrations, with fast response/recovery times and good selectivity. This makes the ZnO-based sensor suitable for ethanol detection applications.

A highly efficient room-temperature formaldehyde gas sensor based on a Ni-doped ZnO hierarchical porous structure decorated with NiS illuminated by UV light

Youzhi Yang et al.

Summary: The development of room-temperature formaldehyde gas sensors with superior response-ability is crucial for various applications. In this study, Ni-doped ZnO hierarchical porous structures decorated with NiS composite materials were synthesized and used in room-temperature UV light-activated formaldehyde sensors. The 0.2% NiS/0.4% Ni-ZnO material showed a higher response value and faster response/recovery time compared to pure ZnO, which was attributed to the synergistic effect of Ni doping and NiS modification.

Deep understanding the effect of annealing temperature on fluorescence and persistent luminescence properties of Mn doped Zn2GeO4 films deposited by RF magnetron sputtering

Xiaoxiao Ye et al.

Summary: This study reveals the influence of annealing temperatures on the optical properties and luminescent characteristics of Mn doped Zn-Ge-O films. With increasing annealing temperatures, the film transforms from amorphous to Zn2GeO4 crystal, resulting in improved luminescent properties. Increased crystallinity and grain size of Zn2GeO4 at higher annealing temperatures enhance the luminescence intensity by affecting the formation and number of effective luminescent units.
