Factors Associated With Working in Remote Indonesia: A National Cross-Sectional Study of Early-Career Doctors

Summary: The study found that 8.9% of actively working clinicians in Indonesia were practicing in remote districts. Factors associated with doctors choosing to work in remote districts include being male, unmarried, spending a significant portion of childhood in a remote district, completing a remote clerkship or internship, participating in rural incentive programs, being a government employee, and having worked rurally or remotely post-internship before their current position.
