A study of Λ and (Λ)over-bar polarization splitting by meson field in PICR hydrodynamic model

Yilong Xie et al.

Summary: Using the PICR hydrodynamic model, the study focused on the polarization splitting between Lambda and Lambda at RHIC BES energy range based on the meson field mechanism. The results matched well with experimental data and revealed two unexpected effects, including a negative contribution from the baryon density gradient and an increase in polarization splitting with decreasing centrality for 7.7 GeV Au+Au collisions in the 20-50% centrality range. These findings may help explain the significant signal of polarization splitting measured in STAR's Au+Au 7.7 GeV collisions.

Local Polarization and Isothermal Local Equilibrium in Relativistic Heavy Ion Collisions

F. Becattini et al.

Summary: The inclusion of an additional term in the spin polarization vector and the assumption of hadron production at constant temperature restore the quantitative agreement between hydrodynamic model predictions and local polarization measurements in relativistic heavy ion collisions at p ffiffiffiffiffiffiffi= 200 GeV. The longitudinal component of the spin polarization vector is found to be very sensitive to the temperature value, with a good fit around 155 MeV. The implications of this finding are discussed.

New developments in relativistic fluid dynamics with spin

Samapan Bhadury et al.

Summary: This work briefly reviews the progress made in formulating hydrodynamics with spin, focusing on its application to relativistic heavy-ion collisions. Discussions include the formulation of hydrodynamics with spin for perfect-fluid, first order viscous corrections, and the calculation of spin kinetic coefficients. Finally, relativistic hydrodynamics with spin is applied to calculate the spin polarization of Lambda-particles in relativistic heavy-ion collisions.

Equilibrium Spin Distribution From Detailed Balance

Ziyue Wang et al.

Summary: In this study, the equilibrium spin distribution function eliminating collision terms is derived from the detailed balance principle. The kinetic theory for interacting fermionic systems is applied to the Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model at quark level, obtaining kinetic equations for vector and axial-vector distribution functions. In a quantum theory, collision terms vanish only in global equilibrium with Killing condition.

Generating Spin Polarization from Vorticity through Nonlocal Collisions

Nora Weickgenannt et al.

Summary: The collision term in the Boltzmann equation, derived using the equation of motion for the Wigner function of massive spin-1/2 particles, has a nonlocal contribution responsible for the conversion of orbital into spin angular momentum. In a proper pseudogauge choice, the antisymmetric part of the energy-momentum tensor arises solely from this nonlocal contribution. The collision term vanishes in global equilibrium, with the spin potential equal to the thermal vorticity. The equations of motion for the energy-momentum and spin tensors reduce to the well-known form for hydrodynamics for micropolar fluids in the nonrelativistic limit.

Spin hydrodynamics and symmetric energy-momentum tensors - A current induced by the spin vorticity -

Kenji Fukushima et al.

Summary: In this article, a puzzle in relativistic spin hydrodynamics is discussed, highlighting the absence of an antisymmetric part in the Belinfante EMT and the physical inequivalence of pseudo-transformed entropy currents in nonequilibrium situations. Additionally, a current induced by the spin vorticity read from the Belinfante symmetric EMT is identified.
