The effect of automated oxygen control on clinical outcomes in preterm infants: a pre- and post-implementation cohort study

H. H. Salverda et al.

Summary: The implementation of automated oxygen control as standard of care did not lead to a change in mortality or morbidity during admission. However, infants who received AOC had a shorter duration of invasive ventilation.

Longitudinal Follow-Up of Children Born Preterm: Neurodevelopment From 2 to 10 Years of Age

Lisette Jansen et al.

Summary: The study found that the severity of impairments remained stable in different domains among preterm children at a group level, but there were significant individual changes over time. At the age of 10, there were fewer children with mild abnormalities and more with moderate-severe abnormalities compared to earlier assessments. Children with normal or mild abnormalities at age 2 were likely to shift to other outcome categories as they grew older, highlighting the importance of long-term follow-up for all very preterm children.
