Initial risk perception and feeling of preparedness of primary care physicians regarding the COVID-19 pandemic in Belgium, France and Spain in February 2020

Summary: This European multi-center cross-sectional study explores primary care physicians' perceptions, anxiety levels, and preparedness towards COVID-19 infection at the beginning of the pandemic. The study found that only a small percentage of physicians were highly anxious about the pandemic, most physicians felt informed and satisfied with the measures taken by health authorities, and about half of the physicians felt prepared to face the epidemic. Factors such as nationality, gender, recognition of measures, and information level were associated with the feeling of preparedness.
