Semileptonic form factors for B ? D*l? at nonzero recoil from2+1-flavor lattice QCD

A. Bazavov et al.

Summary: In this study, the authors present the first unquenched lattice-QCD calculation of the form factors for the decay B -> D*t nu at nonzero recoil. They use different ensembles and calculations methods to extrapolate the results to the physical point and extend the form factors to the full kinematic range. The research provides important information for determining the CKM matrix element |V-cb| and reveals tensions between theory and experiment.

Constrained second-order power corrections in HQET: R(D(*)), |Vcb|, and new physics

Florian U. Bernlochner et al.

Summary: We propose a supplementary power counting approach in the heavy quark effective theory (HQET) that simplifies the second-order power corrections compared to the standard method. By applying this power counting, we calculate the (B) over bar -> D-(*) form factors both within and beyond the standard model up to O(alpha(s)/m(c,b,)1/m(c,b)(2)). We find that the second-order power corrections to the zero-recoil normalization of the (B) over bar -> D(*) l nu matrix elements are determined by hadron mass parameters and agree well with lattice QCD (LQCD) predictions. We develop a parameterization of these form factors under the proposed truncation, which provides excellent fits to LQCD predictions and experimental data, and we make precise updated predictions for several decay rates and related parameters.

Forward-backward asymmetry in B → D*lv: One more hint for scalar leptoquarks?

Alexandre Carvunis et al.

Summary: Experimental data provides hints for the violation of lepton flavor universality (LFU) through various observations including B meson decay, anomalous magnetic moment of the muon, and b->sll. Recent analysis of Belle data also reveals a significant deviation in the forward-backward asymmetry of certain decays, which can be explained by the introduction of a tensor operator induced by a scalar leptoquark. This scenario provides a better fit to the data compared to the Standard Model hypothesis and is consistent with other experimental constraints.

Model with two scalar leptoquarks: R2 and S3

Damir Becirevic et al.

Summary: The article discusses a model that can explain the B-physics anomalies by combining two scalar leptoquarks, R2 and S3. The analysis of its parameter space is updated, showing that the model is still viable and consistent with various constraints. The possibility of testing the model's contribution to the neutron electric dipole moment and the angular distributions of exclusive b->c tau nu over bar decays is also discussed.

Relativistic description of the semileptonic decays of bottom mesons

R. N. Faustov et al.

Summary: The form factors of semileptonic decays of B, Bs, and Bc mesons were calculated in the relativistic quark model, determining their momentum transfer behavior over the full kinematic range. Various parameters for different decay modes of bottom mesons were evaluated and compared between different models.

B? ? D(*) ?IX? decays in effective field theory with massive right-handed neutrinos

Alakabha Datta et al.

Summary: We calculate the complete differential decay distributions for B meson decays to a massive right-handed neutrino in the low-energy effective field theory framework. We find that a massive right-handed neutrino can cause significant distortions in angular observables. We also make predictions for q2 dependent angular observables to motivate future measurements.

Lepton-flavour non-universality of (B)over-bar → D*l(ν)over-bar angular distributions in and beyond the Standard Model

Christoph Bobeth et al.

Summary: The study indicates that the limited number of independent angular observables that can be inferred from current experimental data are insufficient to extract the full set of relevant BSM parameters. There is about a 4 sigma tension between data and predictions, which is hidden in the redundant presentation of the Belle 2018 data. However, inconsistencies in the data raise suspicions about the reliability of results based on it.

Averages of b-hadron, c-hadron, and τ-lepton properties as of 2018 Heavy Flavor Averaging Group (HFLAV)

Y. Amhis et al.

Summary: This paper reports world averages of measurements of b-hadron, c-hadron, and tau-lepton properties obtained by the Heavy Flavour Averaging Group using results available through September 2018. Adjustments are made to common input parameters used in various analyses to common values, taking known correlations into account. The averages include branching fractions, lifetimes, neutral meson mixing parameters, CP violation parameters, parameters of semileptonic decays, and Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix elements.

Measurement of the Positive Muon Anomalous Magnetic Moment to 0.46 ppm

B. Abi et al.

Summary: The experiment presented the first results of the Fermilab National Accelerator Laboratory (FNAL) Muon g - 2 Experiment for the positive muon magnetic anomaly a(mu) (g(mu) - 2)/2, which determined the anomaly from precision measurements of two angular frequencies. The result showed a deviation of 3.3 standard deviations from the standard model prediction, in agreement with previous measurements, increasing the tension between experiment and theory.

Marco Ciuchini et al.

Summary: The study reveals the need for sizable hadronic contributions and correlations among them in the context of recent measurements on B0, B+ -> K*(0,)(+) mu(+)mu(-) decays. By extending the analysis to b -> sl(+)l(-) data, it was found that the fully left-handed operator scenario stands out as the simplest with a significance of almost 6 sigma.
