Origin of Metal Cluster Tuning Enzyme Activity at the Bio-Nano Interface

Yufei Cao et al.

Summary: This study investigates the interface between Candida Antarctic lipase B and palladium nanoparticles, and explores how it affects the structure, dynamics, and catalysis of the enzyme. The findings show that engineering the interface can modify the binding behavior of metal nanoparticles and reduce the disturbance to enzyme function. The engineered enzyme-metal interface also enhances bio-metal cascade reactions.
