Tidal deformation and radial pulsations of neutron star with holographic multiquark core

Sitthichai Pinkanjanarod et al.

Summary: Tidal deformation of neutron star with multiquark core is calculated using nuclear and multiquark equations of state. The equation of state of the multiquark phase from the holographic Sakai-Sugimoto (SS) model is relatively stiff in the low density region and becomes softer at high densities. The radial pulsation frequencies of the multiquark core for different modes are calculated for the entire mass range.

Quasi-normal modes of near-extremal black holes and black strings in massive gravity background

Taum Wuthicharn et al.

Summary: Two numerical methods, AIM and the Spectral Method, are used in this paper to calculate QNMs of near-extremal black holes/strings in a generalized spherically/cylindrically symmetric background. The accuracy of the approximate analytic formula using the Poschl-Teller potential is confirmed by the numerical results. Our analytic formula is then applied to investigate the Strong Cosmic Censorship conjecture of extremal and near-extremal black holes.

Holographic approach to compact stars and their binary mergers

Carlos Hoyos et al.

Summary: In this review article, the role of holography in deciphering the physics of dense QCD matter is described. The strengths and limitations of holographic duality in describing strongly interacting matter at large baryon density are reviewed, along with the most important results derived using the holographic approach. Outstanding open problems in the field are highlighted. The potential contributions of holography to compact-star physics in the future are discussed.

Oscillation modes and gravitational waves from strangeon stars

Hong-Bo Li et al.

Summary: Explored the oscillation modes and frequencies of strangeon stars, which are different from those of neutron stars, especially for stars with lower energy densities. Investigated the universal relations between the f-mode frequency and global properties of strangeon stars.

Slowly rotating neutron star with holographic multiquark core: I-Love-Q relations

Piyabut Burikham et al.

Summary: This paper computes the moment of inertia, rotational Love number, and quadrupole moment of slowly rotating massive neutron stars with holographic multiquarks core and compares them with pure multiquark stars. The results show that the dimensionless multipole moments are independent of rotation parameters and determined by the zeroth-order star profile. Universal relations between moment of inertia, rotational Love number, quadrupole moment, and tidal deformation parameter are verified. The existence of massive neutron stars with a multiquark core can be revealed by the unique kink in the plots of multipole moments.

Holographic QCD in the NICER era

Niko Jokela et al.

Summary: We analyze families of hybrid equations of state for cold QCD matter and predict that all neutron stars are fully hadronic without quark matter cores. Recent measurements on a millisecond pulsar provide mild constraints on the hybrid equations of state, favoring relatively stiff models at low density. Adding an upper bound on the maximal mass of neutron stars tightens the constraints considerably. We discuss updated predictions on various observable quantities for neutron stars.

Holographic modeling of nuclear matter and neutron stars

Matti Jarvinen

Summary: The paper reviews holographic models for nuclear matter, neutron stars, and their mergers. It discusses current knowledge of cold QCD matter and neutron stars, and various approaches to model cold nuclear and quark matter using gauge/gravity duality. The paper focuses on recent results from a holographic framework (V-QCD) and its application in modeling dense nuclear matter and constructing hybrid equations of state for nuclear and quark matter. The author also discusses the constraints on the nuclear to quark matter transition and properties of neutron stars imposed by this approach.

Massive neutron stars with holographic multiquark cores

Sitthichai Pinkanjanarod et al.

Summary: The phases of nuclear matter are crucial in determining the physical properties of neutron stars, with the possibility of phase transition into a deconfined phase of quarks and gluons in the core. Recent research suggests that exotic quark matter could exist in neutron star cores above 2.0 solar masses.

Polar Quasinormal Modes of Neutron Stars in Massive Scalar-Tensor Theories

Jose Luis Blazquez-Salcedo et al.

Summary: The study investigates polar quasinormal modes of relativistic stars in scalar-tensor theories with a massive gravitational scalar field, showing that the presence of the scalar field enriches the spectrum of quasinormal modes compared to General Relativity. The research focuses on radial modes (l=0) and quadrupole modes (l=2), revealing the transformation of general relativistic l=0 normal modes into quasinormal modes in scalar-tensor theories. Analysis shows a dependence between the frequencies and decay times of quasinormal modes and the mass of the scalar field.
