High performance Pt(II) complex and its hybridized carbon quantum dots: Synthesis and the synergistic enhanced optical limiting property

Senqiang Zhu et al.

Summary: Efficient nonlinear optical (NLO) materials are developed by incorporating organometallic Pt(II) complexes into carbon quantum dots (CQDs), exhibiting synergistic effect. The hybrid material exhibits unique transitions and improved NLO performance, including reverse saturable absorption (RSA) and nonlinear scattering responses.

AlCl3-promoted growth of alkylated carbon dots with an enhanced nonlinear optical response

Dandan Lu et al.

Summary: This research proposes a metal-promoted strategy to enhance the nonlinear optical properties of carbon dots (CDs). By doping with aluminum, nitrogen, and chloride, the absorption and emission characteristics of CDs changed, resulting in the demonstration of reverse saturable absorption behavior in a polymer matrix.

N, B-Codoping Induces High-Efficiency Solid-State Fluorescence and Dual Emission of Yellow/Orange Carbon Dots

Junli Wang et al.

Summary: Carbon dots (CDs) with yellow and orange emission were successfully synthesized through a one-step microwave method, exhibiting highly efficient solid-state fluorescence and dual emission in the powder state. The study demonstrates the impact of N, B-codoping on the solid-state fluorescence of NB-CDs and provides a general and efficient method for highly emissive solid-state CDs.

Highly stable yellow-emitting fluorescent film based on graphene quantum dots for white laser-emitting devices

Pinyi He et al.

Summary: In this study, green-emitting graphene quantum dots (GQDs) with high crystallization degree were prepared using a two-step solvothermal method. The GQDs exhibited concentration-dependent photoluminescence properties, allowing for the realization of green, yellow, and orange emissions by adjusting the GQD concentration. This work provides a novel approach for the development of laser fluorescent materials with high quantum yield and color tunability.

Red, orange, yellow and green luminescence by carbon dots: hydrogen-bond-induced solvation effects†

Xiaokai Xu et al.

Summary: This article reports a solvated chromogenic carbon dots with luminescence exhibiting a regular redshift in various solvents, which is attributed to the linking of CD surfaces to solvents through hydrogen bonds, leading to different surface level states and energy resonance transfer efficiencies. CDs/B2O3 composite shows excellent fluorescence thermal stability and has the potential for manufacturing white-light-emitting devices with a high color rendering index, while the solvation effects of CDs have prospects in detecting water content in organic solvents. Additionally, CDs are applied in cell imaging and positioning, showing significant prospects in biological fields.
