Folding-Induced Spin-Orbit Coupling Enhancement for Efficient Pure Organic Room-Temperature Phosphorescence

Guocui Pan et al.

Summary: In this study, a folding structure was used to achieve pure organic room-temperature phosphorescence, and the rationality of the folding-induced spin-orbit coupling (SOC) enhancement mechanism was verified through experiments. The results showed that the smaller the folding angle, the higher the efficiency of pure organic room-temperature phosphorescence. This study provides a new molecular design strategy for developing efficient pure organic room-temperature phosphorescent materials.

Ambient White Light Afterglow Emission Based on Triplet-to-Singlet Forster Resonance Energy Transfer

Huiqiang Gui et al.

Summary: Metal-free organic environmental afterglow materials, compared with fluorescent materials, have potential in new applications due to their larger Stokes shifts, longer lifetimes, higher S/N ratios, and sensitivities. The challenge lies in achieving air stability and long lifetime organic afterglow systems with tunable emission color. However, through copolymerization of two compounds, luminescent copolymers with tunable afterglow emission and the ability to be used as safety ink for paper have been successfully designed and synthesized.

Dual-Emission of Fluorescence and Room-Temperature Phosphorescence for Ratiometric and Colorimetric Oxygen Sensing and Detection Based on Dispersion of Pure Organic Thianthrene Dimer in Polymer Host

Haichao Liu et al.

Summary: Thianthrene is chemically modified into three intramolecular dimers, which exhibit dual-emission of fluorescence and room-temperature phosphorescence (RTP) after deoxygenation. Among these dimers, 2TA2TA shows the largest red shift, longest lifetime, and highest RTP efficiency, making it a promising self-referenced ratiometric and colorimetric probe for oxygen sensing and detection.

Stimulus-responsive room temperature phosphorescence materials with full-color tunability from pure organic amorphous polymers

Dan Li et al.

Summary: The strategy of achieving stimulus-responsive ultralong room temperature phosphorescence (RTP) with color-tunable emissions using water as solvent in the preparation process is reported. By covalent linkage of arylboronic acids with different IC conjugations and polymer matrix of polyvinyl alcohol, the polymer films exhibit outstanding RTP performance. The RTP property of these materials is sensitive to water and heat stimuli. Furthermore, they have been successfully applied in multilevel information encryption and multicolor paper and ink.

Molecular Engineering through Control of Structural Deformation for Highly Efficient Ultralong Organic Phosphorescence

Zheng Yin et al.

Summary: Developing highly efficient organic room-temperature phosphorescence (RTP) materials with long lifetimes is challenging. By introducing a methylene linker between carbazole and halogenated phenyl ring, phosphors CzBX (X=Cl, Br) show significantly higher phosphorescence efficiency than compounds with a C-N bond linker. This research opens the door for potential applications of these materials in anti-counterfeiting or data encryption.

Summary: Research on abnormal stimulus-responsive organic room-temperature phosphorescence effect is conducted, showing persistent phosphorescence of Czs-ph-3F under grinding. Experimental results and theoretical calculations indicate that the transition of molecular conformation of the phenothiazine group is mainly responsible for this result. Furthermore, applications of stylus printing and thermal printing based on the unique RTP effect of Czs-ph-3F are successfully realized.

Tunable multicolor room-temperature phosphorescence including white-light emission from amorphous copolymers

Ting Zhang et al.

Summary: Research on amorphous pure organic room-temperature phosphorescent materials with dual-emissive properties has led to the development of color-tunable RTP emission, including white-light emission, under different feeding ratios and excitation wavelengths. Additionally, time-dependent multicolor afterglow, including nearly white afterglow, can be observed. The RTP emission of the water-soluble acrylamide copolymers can be quenched by water, resulting in tunable emission colors under different humidity conditions.
