Freezing out fluctuations in Hydro plus near the QCD critical point

Maneesha Pradeep et al.

Summary: We introduce a freeze-out procedure to convert the critical fluctuations in a droplet of quark-gluon plasma (QGP) into measurable cumulants of hadron multiplicities. By introducing a critical scalar isoscalar field sigma and its couplings to hadrons, correlations between observed hadrons can be caused by the fluctuations of the sigma field. The proposed framework allows for quantitative study of critical slowing down effects and the suppression of cumulants due to conservation of baryon number.

Proton number cumulants and correlation functions in Au-Au collisions at √sNN=7.7-200 GeV from hydrodynamics

Volodymyr Vovchenko et al.

Summary: This study presents a dynamical description of (anti)proton number cumulants and correlation functions in central Au-Au collisions at different energies. The experiment data from the STAR Collaboration suggest the effects of global baryon number conservation and repulsive interactions in the baryon sector, as well as potential attractive interactions among baryons at lower collision energies. The data also reveal sizable negative two-particle correlations between antiprotons that are not fully explained by baryon conservation and excluded volume effects.

Summary: This study investigates the transition from quark-gluon plasma to hadronic matter in high-energy nuclear collisions using first-principle lattice QCD calculations and experimental data. The results suggest a smooth crossover phenomenon under certain energy conditions.

Nonmonotonic Energy Dependence of Net-Proton Number Fluctuations

J. Adam et al.

Summary: The nonmonotonic variation in the kurtosis times variance of the net-proton number distribution with increasing collision energy suggests a possible signature for the quantum chromodynamics critical point. This evidence was observed in central gold-on-gold collisions at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider, while noncentral collisions and models without a critical point exhibit monotonic variations.

Evolution of Non-Gaussian Hydrodynamic Fluctuations

Xin An et al.

Summary: In the search for the QCD critical point using non-Gaussian fluctuations, evolution equations for non-Gaussian cumulants were obtained to the leading order of systematic expansion, with leading order contributions given by tree diagrams. A diagrammatic technique was developed for multipoint correlators using a Wigner transform, deriving evolution equations for three- and four-point Wigner functions for nonlinear stochastic diffusion with multiplicative noise.

Cumulants and correlation functions of net-proton, proton, and antiproton multiplicity distributions in Au plus Au collisions at energies available at the BNL Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider

M. S. Abdallah et al.

Summary: The study presents systematic measurements of cumulants and correlation functions for net-proton, proton, and antiproton multiplicity distributions in Au+Au collisions at different energies. Nonmonotonic energy dependence and critical fluctuations are observed, along with the effects of baryon number conservation on the correlation functions.

Bayesian analysis of heavy ion collisions with the heavy ion computational framework TRAJECTUM

Govert Nijs et al.

Summary: This paper introduces a model for heavy ion collisions called TRAJECTUM, which includes an expanded initial stage and a hydrodynamic stage. A Gaussian emulator is used to obtain Bayesian posterior estimates on the parameters, and these estimates are tested through closure tests and convergence studies. Finally, optimal parameter values are used to compare experimental data.

Multisystem Bayesian constraints on the transport coefficients of QCD matter

D. Everett et al.

Summary: By combining different modules, we studied the properties of strongly coupled quark-gluon plasma. Our research emphasizes the importance of validation process and the constraints and sensitivity of experimental data on the viscosity of quark-gluon plasma. We also explored the impact of different model parameters on observational results.

Particlization of an interacting hadron resonance gas with global conservation laws for event-by-event fluctuations in heavy-ion collisions

Volodymyr Vovchenko et al.

Summary: The study quantifies the effects of global conservation laws, volume fluctuations, thermal smearing, and resonance decays on fluctuation measurements by partitioning the particlization hypersurface, with a focus on event-by-event fluctuations in heavy-ion collisions. The research points out large differences between net proton and net baryon cumulant ratios and the strong suppression of net-charge fluctuations in existing experimental data at the LHC compared to a hadronic description.

Hydrodynamic study of hyperon spin polarization in relativistic heavy ion collisions

Baochi Fu et al.

Summary: The study systematically investigates the spin polarization of hyperons in heavy ion collisions using the MUSIC hydrodynamic model. It predicts the global spin polarization of Xi(-) and Omega(-) as a function of collision energy, providing a baseline for further research on magnetic moment, spin, and mass dependence of spin polarization. The model successfully describes certain behaviors of local spin polarization but fails to capture the azimuthal-angle dependence of A polarizations. Further improvements to the hydrodynamic framework may be necessary for a more comprehensive understanding.
