Dilepton Rapidity Distribution in Drell-Yan Production to Third Order in QCD

Xuan Chen et al.

Summary: We calculate the lepton-pair rapidity distribution in the photon-mediated Drell-Yan process to a high order in QCD for the first time. Our results demonstrate significant QCD corrections at this high order over the entire rapidity region, and independently confirm the recent results for the total Drell-Yan cross section.

Mixed Strong-Electroweak Corrections to the Drell-Yan Process

Roberto Bonciani et al.

Summary: This study presents the first complete computation of the mixed QCD-electroweak (EW) corrections to the neutral-current Drell-Yan process. The two-loop virtual contribution is computed using semianalytical techniques, and the cancellation of singularities is achieved through an appropriate qT subtraction formalism. The results show that the mixed QCD-EW corrections are negative and increase in magnitude at high lepton pT values, with a maximum of about -15% compared to the next-to-leading-order QCD result at pT 1/4 500 GeV. Up to dilepton invariant masses of 1 TeV, the computed corrections amount to about -1.5% compared to the next-to-leading-order QCD result.

Measurement of the W boson mass

R. Aaij et al.

Summary: The mass of the W boson is measured using collision data from the LHCb experiment at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. By simultaneously fitting the distributions of muon momenta in W->mu y decays and the phi* distribution in Z->mu mu decays, the mass of the W boson is determined. The measurement takes into account various sources of uncertainties. The result agrees well with the prediction from the global electroweak fit and previous measurements.

Lepton-pair production at hadron colliders at N3LO in QCD

Claude Duhr et al.

Summary: For the first time, we have computed the complete corrections to the strong coupling constant in the inclusive neutral-current Drell-Yan process, taking into account contributions from both photon and Z-boson exchange. Our analysis includes QCD corrections to the inclusive production cross section of an axial-vector boson to third order in strong coupling, considering the effects of non-decoupling of the top-quark mass. We have also presented predictions for the inclusive Drell-Yan process at the LHC, based on this order of QCD perturbation theory.

Disentangling long and short distances in momentum-space TMDs

Markus A. Ebert et al.

Summary: A model-independent method based on integral functionals is proposed to restrict momentum-space observables to the perturbative domain and compute the cumulative integral of TMD PDFs. This method corrects the naive picture where the TMD PDF integrates to a collinear PDF and allows for setting model-independent limits on nonperturbative OPE contributions.

Mixed QCD-electroweak corrections to dilepton production at the LHC in the high invariant mass region

Federico Buccioni et al.

Summary: We computed the mixed QCD-electroweak corrections to high invariant mass neutral-current Drell-Yan production of massless leptons. Our results show unexpectedly large corrections at low invariant masses and an approximation to the product of QCD and electroweak corrections at higher invariant masses. These corrections increase with larger invariant mass and reduce the theoretical uncertainty related to the choice of electroweak input parameters.

Four-Loop Rapidity Anomalous Dimension and Event Shapes to Fourth Logarithmic Order

Claude Duhr et al.

Summary: In this study, we obtain the quark and gluon rapidity anomalous dimension up to fourth order in QCD and make use of the soft and rapidity anomalous dimension correspondence, combined with the recent determination of the N4LO threshold anomalous dimensions. We show that the results for the quark and gluon rapidity anomalous dimensions at four loops are related by generalized Casimir scaling. By utilizing the N4LO rapidity anomalous dimension, we achieve the resummation of the energy-energy correlation in the back-to-back limit at N4LL for the first time, resulting in a reduction of perturbative uncertainties on the resummed cross section to below 1%.

The four loop QCD rapidity anomalous dimension

Ian Moult et al.

Summary: This paper first provides a simple proof of the relation between the rapidity anomalous dimension and the soft anomalous dimension using two different representations of the energy-energy correlator observable. Then, the anomalous terms are calculated to three loops, allowing the derivation of the four loop rapidity anomalous dimension in QCD with recent perturbative data.

The complete singlet contribution to the massless quark form factor at three loops in QCD

Long Chen et al.

Summary: This work discusses the non-decoupling effect of top quark loop corrections on quark form factors, particularly the singlet contribution. Numerical calculations and discussions on renormalization formulae and renormalization group equations revealed the significance of these effects in the low energy region. Additionally, the 3-loop Wilson coefficient in the low energy effective Lagrangian was extracted and examined for its approximation accuracy in the low energy region.

Cuts for two-body decays at colliders

Gavin P. Salam et al.

Summary: Fixed-order perturbative calculations for two-body decay processes at colliders exhibit sensitivity to unphysically low momentum scales and poor convergence, especially in the case of H -> γγ in gluon fusion. By making simple modifications to fiducial cuts, such as replacing linear dependence with quadratic dependence, significant improvements in perturbative expansion behavior can be achieved. More sophisticated cuts can even achieve Higgs p(t)-independent acceptance at low p(t) with various advantages.

The three-loop singlet contribution to the massless axial-vector quark form factor

T. Gehrmann et al.

Summary: In this study, we calculated the three-loop corrections to the quark axial vector form factor in massless QCD, with a focus on the pure-singlet contributions where the axial vector current couples to a closed quark loop. By employing the Larin prescription for gamma(5), we discussed the UV renormalization of the form factor and explained the infrared singularity structure of the resulting singlet axial-vector form factor through infrared factorization to define a finite remainder function.

Fiducial qT resummation of color-singlet processes at N3LL+NNLO

Thomas Becher et al.

Summary: Our framework provides a q(T) resummation method for arbitrary color-singlet processes at (NLL)-L-3+NNLO accuracy based on a factorization theorem in SCET. The implementation CuTe-MCFM is fully differential and matches large-q(T) fixed-order predictions at relative order alpha s2, allowing for efficient estimation of uncertainties. In addition to various production processes, the framework is also applicable to diboson processes with decays, showing novel results for gamma gamma and Z gamma at (NLL)-L-3+NNLO accuracy.

Fiducial Higgs and Drell-Yan distributions at N3LL′+NNLO with RadISH

Summary: This study presents state-of-the-art predictions for transverse observables relevant to colour-singlet production at the LHC, utilizing a NLL-L-3 resummation according to the RADISH formalism and matching the results with fixed-order differential spectra at NNLO accuracy. The inclusion of O(α(3)(s)) constant terms and transverse-recoil effects proves beneficial for comparing theoretical predictions to data, leaving a residual theoretical uncertainty in the resummation region at the 2-5% level for Drell-Yan observables, and 5-7% in Higgs production.
