With the increasing energy demand globally, it is essential to design and develop stable and safe energy storage systems. Zinc ion batteries (AZIBs) have attracted attention due to their environmental friendliness, high safety, and unique properties. In this study, VS2 nanosheet structure was used as the positive electrode material, and the assembled Zn/VS2-24 battery showed promising performance.
With the increasing energy demand globally, it is extremely essential to design and develop stable and safe energy storage systems. Various aqueous multivalent ion batteries are considered worthwhile choices. In particular, zinc ion batteries (AZIBs) have attracted much attention owing to their characteristics of environmental friendliness, high safety and unique properties. Herein, we report VS2 nanosheet structure as the positive electrode material through a facile synthesized route. The assembled Zn/VS2-24 battery with a 2 M ZnSO4 electrolyte delivers a specific capacity of 169.86 mA h g(-1) at a current density of 0.5 A g(-1). In addition, it can still maintain a capacity of 130.90 mA h g(-1) after 700 cycles at 2 A g(-1).
