Prior Guided Feature Enrichment Network for Few-Shot Segmentation

Zhuotao Tian et al.

Summary: This article proposes a Prior Guided Feature Enrichment Network (PFENet) to address the challenges of reduced generalization ability on unseen classes and spatial inconsistency between query and support targets in few-shot segmentation. PFENet includes a training-free prior mask generation method and a Feature Enrichment Module (FEM). Experimental results demonstrate that PFENet significantly improves the baseline method and achieves outstanding performance even without labeled support samples.

P-CNN: Part-Based Convolutional Neural Networks for Fine-Grained Visual Categorization

Junwei Han et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a new end-to-end fine-grained visual categorization system called P-CNN, which consists of three modules: SE block for recalibrating feature responses, PLN for locating object parts, and PCN for part classification. The paper also introduces new metric learning and part classification techniques. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of this approach.

Learning What Not to Segment: A New Perspective on Few-Shot Segmentation

Chunbo Lang et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a novel approach to address the bias issue in few-shot segmentation, where models are biased towards seen classes. By introducing an additional branch to explicitly identify the targets of base classes and integrating the results from two learners, the proposed method achieves significant performance improvements on different datasets.

Task-wise attention guided part complementary learning for few-shot image classification

Gong Cheng et al.

Summary: Meta-learning is a general framework for few-shot learning, but challenges remain in making the base-learner task-specific and extracting more specific and complete information for different tasks. New modules like Task-Wise Attention (TWA) and Part Complementary Learning (PCL) have been proposed to address these challenges effectively.

Harmonic Feature Activation for Few-Shot Semantic Segmentation

Binghao Liu et al.

Summary: In this paper, a novel few-shot segmentation approach called harmonic feature activation (HFA) is proposed, aiming to achieve dense support-to-query semantic transformation by incorporating features from both query and support images. HFA is formulated as a bilinear model that systematically handles pixel-wise dense correlation between query and support images. Incorporating low-rank decomposition and semantic diffusion procedures, HFA improves segmentation performance significantly.
