Micro-volume spectrophotometer with a slope spectroscopy technique

Summary: This paper presents a new ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometer based on the slope measurement technique, which can accurately measure the concentration of micro-volume nucleic acids or proteins samples without the need for blank measurement. Experimental results show that the system can measure the concentration of micro-volume samples accurately, without requiring knowledge of the absolute optical path length.

Near Infrared Absorption Spectroscopy in Microfluidic Devices With Selectable Pathlength

Summary: In this study, a smart micro-opto-fluidic platform based on rectangular-section glass micro-capillaries with integrated reflectors was used for absorption spectroscopy measurements in the near infrared range. The results show that water concentration has a significant impact on the absorption features of the sample. The sensitivity of water is greatly enhanced by the multipath effect in the micro-channel.
