Reliability-driven distribution power network dynamic reconfiguration in presence of distributed generation by the deep reinforcement learning method

Soheil Malekshah et al.

Summary: This research proposes a new approach based on dynamic reconfiguration and reinforcement learning algorithm to improve the reliability of the distribution network in the presence of distributed generation. The deep reinforcement learning method is used to find optimal switch strategies to change power flow, taking into account active power loss, voltage deviation, and reliability as evaluation criteria. By calculating probabilistic load flow and failure-rate reduction strategy, the reliability of the network is further enhanced.

Definition and Classification of Power System Stability - Revisited & Extended

Nikos Hatziargyriou et al.

Summary: Since 2004, the dynamic behavior of power systems has changed due to the increasing penetration of converter interfaced generation technologies, loads, and transmission devices. In response to this change, a Task Force was established in 2016 to re-examine and extend the classic definitions and classifications of basic stability terms to incorporate the effects of fast-response power electronic devices. This paper summarizes the major results of the Task Force's work and presents extended definitions and classifications of power system stability.
