Integration of Automatic Text Mining and Genomic and Proteomic Analysis to Unravel Prostate Cancer Biomarkers

Tania Lima et al.

Summary: Prostate cancer is the most common noncutaneous cancer among men, and there is a need for new noninvasive biomarkers. This study used text-mining and bioinformatic analysis to identify key entities associated with prostate cancer, and confirmed the consistency between gene and protein expression levels of certain proteins. The findings suggest potential biomarkers and demonstrate the applicability of the proposed pipeline.

The 2022 World Health Organization Classification of Tumours of the Urinary System and Male Genital Organs-Part A: Renal, Penile, and Testicular Tumours

Holger Moch et al.

Summary: The fifth edition of the WHO classification of urogenital tumours has made significant revisions, including the introduction of molecular-driven renal tumour classification and simplification of the morphologic classification of penile squamous cell carcinomas. A new chapter has also been added for tumours of the scrotum. The main nomenclature for testicular tumours remains the same, but there have been changes in some terms.

Interaction between Galectin-3 and Integrins Mediates Cell-Matrix Adhesion in Endothelial Cells and Mesenchymal Stem Cells

Antonin Sedlar et al.

Summary: Galectin-3 (Gal-3) functions as a key player in cell-matrix adhesion, acting as an extracellular ligand. Through experiments, it was observed that the adhesion process mediated by Gal-3 may be regulated by binding sites different from the CRD.

Increased Circulating Levels of Galectin Proteins in Patients with Breast, Colon, and Lung Cancer

Bailey B. Blair et al.

Summary: Galectins are a family of lectins involved in tumor development, with certain galectins showing increased circulating levels in breast, colon, and lung cancer patients. Different types of galectins are overexpressed in cancer, with no noticeable trends in galectin levels between cancer stages.
