Analysis on Polarization Responses of Resonators for Frequency-Coded Chipless RFID Tags

Summary: This article presents a method to analyze the co- and cross-polarized responses of resonators used in frequency-coded chipless RFID tags. The method characterizes the polarization of the scattered response using complex RCS matrix and introduces four symmetry states for classification. The method is validated through simulation and measurement of representative resonators. The method accelerates tag design and predicts the polarization responses at different orientation angles.

Summary: This paper introduces a novel screen-printable composite ink for printing dielectric substrates for high frequency electronics with low dielectric loss suitable for mm-wave applications. Moreover, a custom silver nanowires based ink is used for metallic printing to ensure high conductivity and stable electrical response. Through the demonstration of a flexible quasi-Yagi antenna, the material system and printing processes have been confirmed to be suitable for mass production of IoT and wearable electronics.
