Synchronization and anti-synchronization of a novel fractional order chaotic system with a quadratic term

Shen Zhangyi et al.

Summary: This paper introduces a new three-dimensional chaos system and analyzes its dynamic properties through theoretical and numerical studies. The rich chaotic behavior of the system is confirmed using phase portraits, Lyapunov analysis, and bifurcation diagram. The paper also proposes a novel fractional chaotic system based on the suggested system and plans to achieve synchronization and anti-synchronization goals using new nonlinear methods. Simulation results demonstrate the efficiency of synchronization and anti-synchronization for the proposed innovative fractional order turbulent system.

Relay interlayer synchronisation: invariance and stability conditions

Sarbendu Rakshit et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the existence and stability of relay interlayer synchronization in a chain of multiplex networks. The dynamics of nodes in symmetric positions on both sides of the non-identical middlemost layer(s) are identical. Analytical conditions for local and global stability of this synchronization state are derived using the master stability function approach and a suitable Lyapunov function, respectively. The impact of interlayer and intralayer coupling strengths, variations of system parameters in the relay layers, and demultiplexing on the emergence of relay interlayer synchrony are explored through numerical simulations.

Intralayer and interlayer synchronization in multiplex network with higher-order interactions

Md Sayeed Anwar et al.

Summary: Recent developments in complex systems have shown that real-world scenarios can be successfully represented as hypergraphs, allowing for higher-order interactions beyond pairwise interactions. This study investigates the intralayer and interlayer synchronizations of a multiplex hypergraph structure, revealing that the consideration of higher-order interactions significantly enhances intralayer synchronization and that interlayer synchronization is more persistent in multiplex hypergraphs with many-body interactions compared to those with only pairwise interactions.

Summary: Extreme events have gained significant attention from researchers due to their importance in various contexts. This review provides a comprehensive overview of recent progress in analyzing high-amplitude events from the perspective of dynamical systems and random walkers. The review emphasizes the mechanisms responsible for the emergence of extreme events and discusses prediction methods using dynamical instabilities and machine learning algorithms. The potential applications of random walkers in reducing extreme events are also explored.

A global synchronization theorem for oscillators on a random graph

Martin Kassabov et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the global synchrony of Kuramoto oscillators on random graphs and proves that when the coupling probability p is sufficiently large, the network can achieve global synchronization for almost all initial conditions. The results show that as p approaches log(n)/n, the probability of global synchronization significantly increases.

Controlling species densities in structurally perturbed intransitive cycles with higher-order interactions

Sourin Chatterjee et al.

Summary: This article explores the impact of higher-order interactions on the evolution of social phenotypes and presents a new perspective for understanding this phenomenon. The study shows that perturbations have a significant influence on the coexistence equilibrium of competing species and can lead to the system being split into multiple feasible cluster states, depending on the number of perturbations.

Double explosive transition in the synchronization of multilayer networks

Tianwei Wu et al.

Summary: The study shows that consecutive explosive transitions may occur in two-layered networks when a dynamical layer interacts with an environmental layer of oscillators in approximate synchronization. The mechanisms behind the two transitions are different, with the disorder originating from coupling amplification and synchronization from coupling-induced processes.

First-order route to antiphase clustering in adaptive simplicial complexes

Ajay Deep Kachhvah et al.

Summary: This study investigates the synchronization transition of oscillator ensembles encoded by simplicial complexes using an adaptive mechanism inspired by the Hebbian learning rule. The study found that the simultaneously evolving adaptive coupling weights lead to antiphase synchronization instead of in-phase synchronization. The study also found that the onsets of antiphase synchronization and desynchronization can be controlled through learning rates.

Enhancing synchrony in asymmetrically weighted multiplex networks

Md Sayeed Anwar et al.

Summary: The study focuses on the transition scenarios of two types of synchronization in a multiplex network, intralayer and interlayer synchronization, considering different weighting mechanisms. It is found that intralayer synchronization is enhanced in hubs-attracting networks and de-enhanced in hubs-repelling networks compared to unweighted networks. The sustainability of interlayer synchronization is also examined against progressive removal of interlayer links.

Anti-phase relay synchronization of wave structures in a heterogeneous multiplex network of 2D lattices

I. A. Shepelev et al.

Summary: This study investigates relay synchronization of wave structures in a heterogeneous three-layer network, with remote layers consisting of coupled van der Pol oscillators and a middle layer composed of FitzHugh-Nagumo neurons. It is shown that even weak inter-layer coupling can lead to anti-phase relay synchronization of target wave patterns in the network. Stronger inter-layer coupling results in in-phase synchronization of spatio-coherent structures in the network layers.

Repulsive inter-layer coupling induces anti-phase synchronization

Igor A. Shepelev et al.

Summary: In a bilayer network of van der Pol oscillators with repulsive coupling, anti-phase synchronization of spatiotemporal structures was observed for all considered combinations of intra-layer coupling. The correlation coefficient between symmetrical pairs of network nodes tended to be close to -1 in the case of anti-phase synchronization. The form of synchronous structures depended on the intra-layer coupling strengths, which varied with the repulsive inter-layer coupling.

Relay Synchronization in a Weighted Triplex Network

Md Sayeed Anwar et al.

Summary: This study focuses on relay synchronization and intra-layer synchronization in a three-layer multiplex network. The relationship between the relay layer's topological properties and synchronization is explored, showing that a higher clustering coefficient hinders synchronization. By introducing degree-based weighting mechanisms, it is found that hubs-repelling relay layers can significantly improve relay synchronization compared to other cases.
