Muon spin spectroscopy

Adrian D. Hillier et al.

Summary: Muon spin spectroscopy (mu SR) is a powerful tool for investigating material properties, providing unique information about the static and dynamic characteristics of materials. It has a wide range of applications in fields such as magnetism, superconductivity, and functional materials, and can also be used to study energy storage materials, dynamics, chemical reactions, semiconductors, and more. It has great potential for future development.

Odd-frequency pairing and time-reversal symmetry breaking for repulsive interactions

Dimitri Pimenov et al.

Summary: In this study, the pairing of fermions is investigated with an interaction involving Hubbard repulsion, a screened Coulomb potential, and a dynamical phonon-mediated attraction. The gap equation allows for even-and odd-frequency solutions Ae and Ao. It is shown that odd-frequency pairing does not develop within the Eliashberg approximation due to over-critical pair breaking from the self-energy, but can develop when vertex corrections are included. Furthermore, Ao remains unaffected by Hubbard repulsion and for strong repulsion, it is comparable to a reduced Ae.

Time-reversal symmetry breaking in the superconducting state of ScS

Arushi et al.

Summary: We have studied the electronic properties of ScS, a transition-metal monochalcogenide, and confirmed its bulk superconductivity. The presence of spontaneous static or quasistatic magnetic fields in the superconducting state suggests that ScS may be a candidate material for unconventional superconductivity.

Possible unconventional pairing in (Ca, Sr)3(Ir, Rh)4Sn13 superconductors revealed by controlling disorder

E. H. Krenkel et al.

Summary: We study the temperature-dependent resistivity evolution induced by electron irradiation with added pointlike disorder in stoichiometric compositions of the 3-4-13 stannides. The coexistence of charge density wave (CDW) order and superconductivity (SC) is observed in some compounds, and irradiation universally suppresses CDW transition temperature T-CDW. The superconducting transition temperature T-c shows a more complex behavior, either increasing initially and saturating at higher doses or monotonically suppressed by irradiation. A weak-coupling, full single gap, isotropic superconducting state is revealed by measuring the London penetration depth lambda(T).

Time-reversal symmetry breaking in frustrated superconductor Re2Hf

Manasi Mandal et al.

Summary: Geometrical frustration can lead to novel quantum phenomena, such as the spin-liquid phase. In this study, we observe a time-reversal symmetry breaking pairing state in Re2Hf arising from FS nesting frustration. Our experiments suggest a fully gapped pairing symmetry, consistent with the first-principles electronic structure calculation. The spin-fluctuation mediated SC pairing symmetry reveals an s is'-pairing state.

Time-reversal symmetry breaking and multigap superconductivity in the noncentrosymmetric superconductor La7Ni3

Arushi et al.

Summary: The study investigates La7Ni3 as the latest member of the Th7Fe3 family of superconductors and finds evidence for both time-reversal-symmetry-breaking and multigap superconductivity in this material. This establishes La7Ni3 as the first member of the family to exhibit these unique properties.

Summary: The study presents evidence of time-reversal symmetry breaking (TRSB) and Bardeen-Cooper-Schrieffer (BCS)-like superconductivity in noncentrosymmetric La7Pd3, suggesting implications for other CS and NCS superconductors where TRSB has been observed.
