Simple and cost-effective mass production of nitrate type MgAl layered double hydroxide: Titration from concentrated solution

Soontaree Intasa-ard (Grace) et al.

Summary: This study examined the mass production of nitrate type Mg/Al layered double hydroxide through co-precipitation method using concentrated metal salt solution titrated with ammonium hydroxide under ambient atmosphere. The influence of suspension pH and post precipitation aging on the products was studied. The results showed a high yield and purity of nitrate type Mg/Al layered double hydroxide by adjusting the suspension pH and applying post precipitation aging.

The In-situ Growth NiFe-layered Double Hydroxides/g-C3N4 Nanocomposite 2D/2D Heterojunction for Enhanced Photocatalytic CO2 Reduction Performance

Xiaoya Zhao et al.

Summary: The tightly 2D/2D heterojunction of g-C3N4/NiFe-layered double hydroxides (NiFe-LDH) prepared in situ showed improved transfer pathway of photogenerated electrons and holes, resulting in reduced recombination rate and increased efficiency and selectivity for CO2 reduction. The addition of g-C3N4 also modified the surface morphology and ductility of NiFe-LDH, providing more reaction sites for the reduction of CO2.

Ni-Fe layered double hydroxides for oxygen evolution Reaction: Impact of Ni/Fe ratio and crystallinity

Manon Wilhelm et al.

Summary: NiFe Layered Double Hydroxides (LDH) with different Ni/Fe ratios and levels of crystallinity were synthesized to evaluate their electrocatalytic behavior in 0.1 M KOH. Statistical analysis showed that an increase in the crystallinity of LDH may be detrimental to the catalytic efficiency.

Preparation of MgGa Layered Double Hydroxides and Possible Compositional Variation

Rattanawadee (Ploy) Wijitwongwan et al.

Summary: Layered double hydroxides (LDHs) with varying x values play an important role in various applications due to their structural and compositional characteristics. The x value, representing the layer charge density, can be controlled through synthesis methods. Lower x values in MgGa-LDHs containing carbonate and dodecyl sulfate were found to be more beneficial for dispersion in water and hexanol.

M(II)Al4 Type Layered Double Hydroxides-Preparation Using Mechanochemical Route, Structural Characterization and Catalytic Application

Marton Szabados et al.

Summary: The synthesis of CuAl4 type LDHs was optimized in this study, leading to the preparation of phase-pure forms for the first time. Other layered hydroxides were also attempted using different metal ions, revealing the relative positions of the incorporating cations in the selectivity series. The catalytic potential of the solids in carbon monoxide oxidation reactions was investigated, with the combination of nickel and cobalt incorporation showing outstanding benefits.
