Summary: Emerging multi-resonance thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) emitters have shown great potential for organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) due to their high exciton harvesting efficiency and color purity. This study demonstrates an ambipolar self-host featured MR emitter, tCBNDADPO, which incorporates host segments to improve TADF properties without involving additional charge transfer and/or vibrational components. The tCBNDADPO emitter shows narrowband blue emission, high photoluminescence and electroluminescence quantum efficiencies, and 100% internal quantum efficiency, indicating the feasibility of the ambipolar self-host strategy for constructing practical MR materials.

OLEDs based on these compounds achieved high efficiency and brightness.

Characterizing the Conformational Distribution in an Amorphous Film of an Organic Emitter and Its Application in a Self-Doping Organic Light-Emitting Diode

Summary: This study used temperature-dependent time-resolved photoluminescence spectroscopy to quantitatively measure the relative populations of the conformations of a TADF emitter for the first time. A new concept of self-doping was proposed for achieving high-efficiency nondoped OLEDs. The self-doping OLED prepared with the newly developed TADF emitter TP2P-PXZ as a neat emitting layer demonstrated a high maximum external quantum efficiency of 25.4% and negligible efficiency roll-off.
