In Situ Hydrothermal Synthesis of ZnS/TiO2 Nanofibers S-Scheme Heterojunction for Enhanced Photocatalytic H2 Evolution

Quanpeng Wang et al.

Summary: In this study, S-scheme heterojunction photocatalysts were constructed by depositing ZnS nanoparticles on TiO2 nanofibers. The photocatalytic H2 evolution rate was significantly improved compared to mono-component ZnS and TiO2. The improved performance is mainly attributed to the fast separation of photoexcited charge carriers and enhanced redox capacity of the system.

CVD Assisted Synthesis of Macro Mesoporous TiO2/g-C3N4 S-Scheme Heterojunction for Enhanced Photocatalytic Hydrogen Evolution

Jing Yang et al.

Summary: A step-scheme (S-scheme) heterojunction of TiO2/g-C3N4 photocatalysts with enhanced H-2 evolution performance is constructed through a simple chemical vapor deposition process. The microstructure of the samples can be controlled by adjusting the dosage of melamine. The formation of the S-scheme heterojunction in TiO2/g-C3N4 leads to improved photocatalytic performance due to efficient charge separation and high redox ability.

Graphitic Carbon Nitride Sheet Supported Single-Atom Metal-Free Photocatalyst for Oxygen Reduction Reaction: A First-Principles Analysis

Prodyut Roy et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates that doping a single silicon atom on the surface of porous graphitic carbon nitride can serve as an efficient photocatalyst for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) with a low onset potential. The dopant atom activates molecular oxygen adsorbed on the surface and facilitates its reduction via a four-electron transfer pathway. This metal-free photocathode system shows great potential for use in fuel cells.
