Controlled ultrasonication for covalent functionalization of boron nitride nanotubes

Adesewa O. Maselugbo et al.

Summary: In this study, BNNTs were functionalized with 1H,1H,2H,2H-Perfluorooctan-1-ol using sonochemical assisted covalent functionalization. The results showed that the fluorine atomic percent increased with increasing power, but showed little response to increased total energy applied.

Bio-Based Nanofluids of Extraordinary Stability and Enhanced Thermal Conductivity as Sustainable Green Heat Transfer Media

Karolina Brzoska et al.

Summary: Stable nanofluids containing carbon nanotubes, biomass-derived diols, and poly(N-vinylpyrrolidone) were prepared and studied for over a year. The nanofluids exhibited remarkable stability, enhanced thermal conductivity, and reduced sedimentation, making them ideal for heat transfer applications in sustainable energy systems. Toxicity tests showed that the use of diols helped reduce the toxicity of carbon nanotubes, further highlighting the potential of these bio-based nanofluids.
