Yb3+/Mn2+ co-doped Y3Al5O12 phosphors for optical thermometric application

Zhihu Xu et al.

Summary: Yb3+/Mn2+ co-doped Y3Al5O12 phosphors were prepared through high-temperature solid-phase reaction and exhibited orange-red up-conversion emission of Mn2+ at room temperature. The cooperative luminescence of Yb3+-Mn2+ dimers contributed to the orange up-conversion emission peak at 585 nm under 980 nm excitation. The phosphors showed high absolute sensitivity and relative sensitivity, indicating their potential as reliable optical temperature sensors. The thermal reliability of the phosphors was also demonstrated, making them suitable for temperature sensing applications.

Tendentious multiple sites occupation towards white light emission in single-phase Ba2(1-y/3)Ca(1-y/3)SryB2Si4O14:Eu2+ phosphors

Yongzheng Fang et al.

Summary: The site preferences of Eu2+ ions in the BCBSO phosphor were investigated, showing a higher likelihood for the ions to occupy the Ba2+ sites rather than the Ca2+ sites. The crystal environment of the luminescence centers could be modulated by doping with Sr2+ ions, resulting in tunable emission color from yellow to white. The photoluminescence quantum yield was significantly improved as well.

Ratiometric temperature sensing and molecular logic AND gate execution via Eu3+ doped BaWO4 nanophosphor

Karamjyoti Panigrahi et al.

Summary: In this study, Eu3+ doped BaWO4 was successfully prepared via hydrothermal route, and the thermally coupled energy levels (TCEL) D-5(1) and D-5(0) of Eu3+ were utilized for designing a ratiometric temperature sensor in the range of 80-500 K. The intense down-shifting luminescence and high temperature sensitivity resulted in small temperature uncertainty (0.05 K) and low absolute error (-0.12 to 0.14 K).
