Constructing MoS2@Co1.11Te2/Co-NCD with Te nanorods for efficient hydrogen evolution reaction and triiodide reduction

Zhuolei Liu et al.

Summary: By rational structure engineering, we successfully designed and constructed a MoS2@Co1.11Te2/Co-NCD-T composite with Te nanorods, which exhibited bifunctional catalytic properties for the hydrogen evolution reaction and triiodide reduction reaction. The incorporation of Te nanorods provided additional charge transport channels and accelerated the electron transport between the electrode and electrolyte. The synergistic effect between Co1.11Te2 and MoS2 further enhanced the catalytic activity. The composite showed low overpotential and small Tafel slope in an alkaline medium, and the assembled solar cell exhibited significantly higher conversion efficiency than Pt.

Mikko Nisula et al.

Summary: The study explores the relationship between the electrical conductivity, structure, and oxidation state of one-dimensional coordination polymer thin films of N,N'-dimethyl dithiooxamidato-copper prepared by atomic/molecular layer deposition. The results indicate that the electrical conductivity of the films is highly dependent on the oxidation state, with a significant increase in conductivity upon partial reduction and the observed metallic behavior in the high-conductance state.

Stable and efficient seawater splitting on a porous phosphate-intercalated NiFe (oxy)hydroxide@NiMoO4 core-shell micropillar electrode

Chen Yang et al.

Summary: The porous electrode P-NiFe@NiMoO4 is synthesized through an electrochemical oxidation strategy to address the issues of chlorine evolution reaction and chloride corrosion in seawater splitting. The optimized electrocatalysts afford a low overpotential and the electrolyzer presents a low voltage with excellent stability in alkaline seawater. The remarkable stability of the anode is attributed to the in-situ formation of phosphate during the electrochemical oxidation process to passivate chloride corrosion.
