Insight into the spectroscopic behavior of Dy3+-substituted and Li+ charge-compensated molybdate phosphors

Priyanka Nayak et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates the efficient utilization of phosphors in solid-state lighting and phosphor-converted light-emitting diodes through the synthesis of undoped and Li+ co-doped CaMoO4:Dy3+ nanoparticles. The characteristic emission lines from Dy3+ are achieved through energy transfer from the host to the dopant. The optical properties of the phosphors are improved by lithium co-doping, resulting in enhanced light output and excited state lifetimes. This work highlights the importance of lithium co-doping in enhancing the optical properties of phosphors.

Far-red-emitting YAl3(BO3)4:Cr3+ phosphors with excellent thermal stability and high luminescent yield for plant growth LEDs

Meiling Shi et al.

Summary: YAB:Cr3+ phosphors exhibit intense broadband absorption to blue light, sharp-line E-2 emission and broadband (4) T-2 emission of Cr3+ with a high QY of approximately 86.7%. The far-red broadband emissions of YAB:Cr3+ centered at around 735 nm show a high resemblance to the active-state (P-FR) absorption of plant phytochrome. Furthermore, YAB:Cr3+ phosphors demonstrate thermally enhanced luminescence and near-zero thermal quenching, attributed to temperature-dependent repopulation between E-2 and (4) T-2 states.
