The global sliding mode tracking control for a class of variable order fractional differential systems

Jingfei Jiang et al.

Summary: A novel variable order fractional control approach is proposed to achieve tracking control of both variable order fractional and constant order fractional order system with uncertain and external disturbance terms. The designed controllers, based on global sliding mode control theory and terminal sliding mode control method, ensure the system states stay on the switching surface from the initial time and then converge to the origin. These controllers avoid undesirable chattering and completely remove the effects of uncertain and external disturbance.

Impact of fear effect and prey refuge on a fractional order prey-predator system with Beddington-DeAngelis functional response

Na Zhang et al.

Summary: In this article, a fractional-order prey-predator system with Beddington-DeAngelis functional response incorporating dread of predators and prey shelter is proposed and studied. The existence, uniqueness, and well posedness of the system solution are proved, and the stability and bifurcation analysis are conducted. It is found that strong memory can promote the stable coexistence of two species in the system.

Unified predictor-corrector method for fractional differential equations with general kernel functions

Guo-Cheng Wu et al.

Summary: This paper investigates fractional derivatives with respect to general kernel functions and proposes a numerical discretization method using a non-equidistant partition and a predictor-corrector scheme in space AC delta[a, b]. The coefficients for the rectangle and trapezoidal formulae are derived. Numerical examples demonstrate the efficiency of this approach in comparing fractional differential equations with different memory effects and provide a numerical tool to determine the better fractional derivative for real-world applications.

Uniform Stability of Complex-Valued Neural Networks of Fractional Order With Linear Impulses and Fixed Time Delays

Hui Li et al.

Summary: This paper discusses the complex-valued neural network based on CV parameters and variables, focusing on the fractional-order CVNN with linear impulses and fixed time delays. Criteria for uniform stability and existence and uniqueness of equilibrium solutions were derived using the sign function, Banach fixed point theorem, and two classes of activation functions. Three experimental simulations were presented to illustrate the correctness and effectiveness of the obtained results.

Global Mittag-Leffler Stability of the Delayed Fractional-Coupled Reaction-Diffusion System on Networks Without Strong Connectedness

Yue Cao et al.

Summary: This article mainly considers the existence of solutions and global Mittag-Leffler stability of delayed fractional-order coupled reaction-diffusion neural networks without strong connectedness. Criteria for the existence of solutions and global Mittag-Leffler stability are provided using Leary-Schauder's fixed point theorem and the Lyapunov method. The correctness of the theory is verified through a numerical example.

A Note on Function Space and Boundedness of the General Fractional Integral in Continuous Time Random Walk

Qin Fan et al.

Summary: The general fractional calculus has gained popularity in continuous time random walk. However, the boundedness condition of the general fractional integral remains unknown. In this short communication, the authors utilize classical norm space and present a general boundedness theorem. Moreover, they suggest various long-tailed waiting time probability density functions for continuous time random walk, as the general fractional integral is well defined.

Global Mittag-Leffler stability and existence of the solution for fractional-order complex-valued NNs with asynchronous time delays

Hui Li et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the global Mittag-Leffler stability of fractional-order complex-valued neural networks with asynchronous time delays, introducing new inequalities and lemma with rigorous proof. By extending the properties of M-matrix to general cases, the excitatory and inhibitory impacts on neurons are discussed, with exponential stability being a special case. Two numerical experiments are conducted to validate the theoretical analysis.

Continuous time random walk to a general fractional Fokker-Planck equation on fractal media

Hui Fu et al.

Summary: A general fractional calculus is presented using fractional operators with respect to another function, and several commonly used propositions are introduced. The derivation of a general time-fractional Fokker-Planck equation is done in conjunction with the continuous time random walk (CTRW), and various new probability density functions are proposed in the paper.

Asymptotic multistability and local S-asymptotic ω-periodicity for the nonautonomous fractional-order neural networks with impulses

Yonggui Kao et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the asymptotic multistability and local S-asymptotic omega -periodicity of nonautonomous fractional-order neural networks with impulses. Criteria on existence, uniqueness, and invariant sets are derived using convergent sequences and comparison principles, while novel conditions for boundedness and local asymptotic stability are obtained using the Lyapunov direct method. Sufficient conditions for local S-asymptotic omega -periodicities are presented, and the validity of the findings is verified through discussion of two examples, suggesting that global asymptotic stability is a special case of asymptotic multistability.

Dumitru Baleanu et al.

Summary: This paper introduces and analyzes a novel fractional chaotic system with quadratic and cubic nonlinearities. Numerical simulations determine the lowest order at which the system remains chaotic, and the system's chaotic behavior is studied using a nonstandard finite difference scheme. Additionally, nonidentical synchronization between the model and fractional Volta equations is achieved through an active control strategy, confirming its effectiveness through simulations.
