Role of Femtosecond Pulsed Laser-Induced Atomic Redistribution in Bimetallic Au-Pd Nanorods on Optoelectronic and Catalytic Properties

Mohammadreza Nazemi et al.

Summary: Utilizing femtosecond laser-induced atomic redistribution of metal domains in bimetallic Au-Pd nanorods can enhance photocurrent response. Optimizing the structure and composition of bimetallic Au-Pd nanoparticles helps balance the trade-off between light absorption effect and catalytic activity. This study provides guidance for designing hybrid plasmonic-catalytic nanostructures for solar-fuel-based applications.

A novel deposition mechanism of Au on Ag nanostructures involving galvanic replacement and reduction reactions

Juan Xu et al.

Summary: A novel deposition mechanism of Au atoms on Ag nanostructures involving simultaneous galvanic replacement and reduction reactions has been proposed in this study. The morphology of the final Ag@Au nanostructures is determined by the ratio between the two reactions. This mechanism has been verified experimentally and shown to be applicable to different morphologies of nanostructures.

Plasmonic photothermal catalysis for solar-to-fuel conversion: current status and prospects

Shunqin Luo et al.

Summary: Solar-to-fuel conversion through photocatalytic processes is a promising technology that can reduce reliance on fossil fuels and support sustainable development. Plasmonic catalysts can utilize visible and infrared light to enhance the efficiency of solar-to-fuel conversion. By mediating catalytic reactions, plasmonic catalysts can facilitate thermodynamically uphill reactions converting CO2 and/or H2O into valuable products.
