Simple synthesis of Ag nanoparticles /Cu2O cube photocatalyst at room temperature: Efficient electron transfer improves photocatalytic performance

Jiwen Li et al.

Summary: In this experiment, Ag/Cu2O heterojunction was successfully obtained by directly reducing Ag+ at room temperature in one step, and its performance in degrading pollutants was evaluated. Comparative photocatalytic activity experiments showed that the degradation effect of the catalyst was much higher than that of Cu2O nanocubes. The amount of Ag particles could be controlled by adjusting the silver nitrate concentration, and it was found that Ag/Cu2O-3 had the optimal ratio. By characterizing the prepared samples, it was concluded that the improved photocatalytic performance of the composite photocatalyst was mainly due to the presence of Ag, which enhanced the transfer of photoelectrons and accelerated the separation of photoelectrons-holes in Cu2O. Additionally, the presence of Ag particles expanded the absorption range of Cu2O in the visible light region, thereby enhancing the photocatalytic performance.

Pengtao Yue et al.

Summary: Introducing a hydrophobic surface on Cu/Sn nanowires can significantly improve the Faraday efficiency for HCOOH production and achieve excellent CO2 conversion activity even at high overpotential. The rich triple-phase interfaces at the hydrophobic surface enhance CO2 mass transfer and increase the selectivity of HCOOH, providing a facile and promising approach for improved electrochemical CO2 reduction.
