Multiple forecasting approach: a prediction of CO2 emission from the paddy crop in India

Pawan Kumar Singh et al.

Summary: The study compared four prediction methods to forecast total CO2 emission from paddy crops in India, with Holt-Winters and SVR found to be more accurate compared to SARIMAX and RFR. These results suggest that Holt-Winters and SVR are suitable models for forecasting CO2 emissions from paddy crops.

Machine Learning Approach to Simulate Soil CO2 Fluxes under Cropping Systems

Toby A. Adjuik et al.

Summary: This study evaluates the potential of machine learning methods to predict soil greenhouse gas emissions and finds that tree-based machine learning algorithms can effectively simulate CO2 fluxes. Soil classification, soil temperature, and air temperature are useful predictors when a large database is available.

Simulation of soil CO2 efflux under different hydrothermal conditions based on general regression neural network

Li Zhang et al.

Summary: This study compared a general regression neural network (GRNN) model and six validated two-factor-semi-empirical regression models to simulate changes in soil respiration (Rs) under the influence of soil temperature (T-soil) and soil moisture (W-soil) in camphor forests in subtropical China. The GRNN model outperformed the regression models in predicting Rs, and it also revealed the non-linear relationship between Rs and W-soil.

Machine learning-based time series models for effective CO2 emission prediction in India

Surbhi Kumari et al.

Summary: China, India, and the USA have the highest energy consumption and CO2 emissions globally. This paper presents a prediction of India's detrimental CO2 emissions for the next 10 years based on various statistical models, machine learning models, and a deep learning-based LSTM model. The results show that the LSTM model is the most accurate for CO2 emission prediction.

Machine learning improves predictions of agricultural nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from intensively managed cropping systems

Debasish Saha et al.

Summary: The accumulation of the potent greenhouse gas nitrous oxide in the atmosphere, largely due to agricultural intensification, poses challenges for existing models. Research shows that machine learning coupled with cropping systems models can significantly improve predictions of N2O emissions.
