Fault diagnosis of dynamic processes with reconstruction and magnitude profile estimation for an industrial application

Qiang Liu et al.

Summary: In this paper, a new hierarchical fault diagnosis strategy that combines reconstruction and dynamic time warping is proposed for the diagnosis of feeding anomalies in an industrial cone crusher. The strategy includes a novel fault-magnitude-estimation method based on dynamic relations captured by dynamic latent variable predictions. A combined index is developed to improve sensitivity to faults, and fault-magnitude-estimation-based dynamic time warping is used to evaluate the shape similarity of faults.

A Deep Domain Adaptative Network for Remaining Useful Life Prediction of Machines Under Different Working Conditions and Fault Modes

Mengqi Miao et al.

Summary: This article proposes a novel transfer learning method, deep domain adaptative network (DDAN), for machine remaining useful life (RUL) prediction under different working conditions and fault modes. It develops a new feature extractor, SCRNN, to extract temporal and spatial features from sensor signals, and introduces a collaborative domain alignment method to guide feature learning across domains. The effectiveness of DDAN in machine RUL prediction is demonstrated through testing on systematic and component datasets.
