Entanglement Thresholds of Doubly Parametric Quantum Transducers

Curtis L. Rau et al.

Summary: Doubly parametric quantum transducers hold promise for entangling optical and microwave modes. In this work, we derive protocol-independent expressions for the necessary conditions to achieve quantum operation. We find that for both beamsplitter-type and two-mode squeezing-type interactions, achieving quantum operation does not require a quantum cooperativity exceeding one or ground-state cooling of the mediating mode.

Hybrid Entanglement Distribution between Remote Microwave Quantum Computers Empowered by Machine Learning

Bingzhi Zhang et al.

Summary: This study proposes a hybrid protocol to enable efficient entanglement distribution between superconducting microwave quantum computers and continuous-variable quantum communications. Continuous-variable microwave entanglement is distributed using optical swapping, and a hybrid circuit is designed to convert and distill noisy continuous-variable entanglement into high-quality discrete-variable entanglement. Machine-learning algorithms are used to train the hybrid circuit, ensuring high entanglement fidelity and generation rate.

Open-Air Microwave Entanglement Distribution for Quantum Teleportation

Tasio Gonzalez-Raya et al.

Summary: Microwave technology plays a crucial role in wireless communications, and understanding its limitations in realistic open-air settings is important for its development. This study investigates the feasibility of open-air entanglement distribution with microwave two-mode squeezed states and explores techniques to improve quantum correlations and increase the reach of entanglement.

Beyond the standard quantum limit for parametric amplification of broadband signals

M. Renger et al.

Summary: The key of the study is the low-noise amplification of weak microwave signals, which can be overcome by employing nondegenerate parametric amplification to achieve higher quantum efficiency beyond the standard quantum limit. Experimentally, it is demonstrated that using a Josephson parametric amplifier can achieve higher quantum efficiency than the SQL.

Structure of a General Quantum Gaussian Observable

A. S. Holevo

Summary: The structure theorem establishes a connection between the descriptions of a Gaussian observable in terms of the characteristic function and in terms of the density of a probability operator-valued measure (POVM). It provides the most economical construction of the Naimark extension of a general Gaussian observable and shows that the Gaussian POVM has bounded operator-valued density with respect to the Lebesgue measure if and only if its noise covariance matrix is nondegenerate.

Environment-assisted bosonic quantum communications

Stefano Pirandola et al.

Summary: The study explores the application of a quantum relay in quantum communication protocols, showing that classical correlations in the environment can reactivate entanglement distribution protocols by guaranteeing the distribution of a weaker form of entanglement. Additionally, experimental evidence demonstrates that memory effects in the environment can significantly enhance the performance of a quantum relay beyond established limits for quantum and private communications.
