In an essay proposal, the approach is divided into two moments. The first moment discusses the author's method of writing and argumentation, focusing on the concept of invention in the author's titles. The second moment explores Durval's readings on masculinity, aiming to understand the impact of his work on Brazilian historiography. The argument is based on the continuity between these two movements and how Durval's texts are influenced by his inventive-metaphorical method and Brazilian historiography.
In an essay proposal, we divided our approach into two moments: the first refers to brief and incomplete general considerations about his method of writing and argumentation. We will focus especially on the idea of invention, present in many of the author's titles, understanding this concept as a true itinerary of authorial research. In the second moment, we will try to understand some of Durval's readings about the notion of masculinity, seeking to contextualize a brief set of interpretative bundles of that epistemological context in order to understand some reverberations, impacts and crossings of his work in Brazilian historiography. Our argument is based precisely on the continuity between these two movements, that is, when establishing a discussion about masculinity, Durval's texts, before appropriating discussions from Men's studies, are based on the very inventive-metaphorical method handcrafted by the author and for his Brazilian historiographical influences.
