CCR5 closes the temporal window for memory linking

Yang Shen et al.

Summary: This study reveals that delayed expression of CCR5 after memory formation determines the duration of the temporal window for memory linking. It lowers neuronal excitability and regulates memory allocation, reducing memory overlap. Age-related increase in CCR5 expression impairs memory linking, which can be reversed with genetic knockout and a specific drug.

Role of TRPV1 in High Temperature-Induced Mitochondrial Biogenesis in Skeletal Muscle: A Mini Review

Yixiao Xu et al.

Summary: TRPV1 channel plays a role in releasing Ca2+ from cells under high-temperature stress, thus enhancing mitochondrial biogenesis in skeletal muscle. High-temperature stress can benefit the adaptation of muscle mitochondria to aerobic capacity.

Adipose Tissue-Derived CCL5 Enhances Local Pro-Inflammatory Monocytic MDSCs Accumulation and Inflammation via CCR5 Receptor in High-Fat Diet-Fed Mice

Pei-Chi Chan et al.

Summary: The study reveals the crucial role of CCL5 in obesity-induced adipose tissue inflammation and insulin resistance, showing that CCL5 gene deletion or tissue-specific deletion of CCL5 through BMT can ameliorate inflammation and impact the distribution of MDSCs and macrophage polarization in adipose tissue.

Impacts of heat stress on immune responses and oxidative stress in farm animals and nutritional strategies for amelioration

Surinder S. Chauhan et al.

Summary: Heat stress poses a significant challenge to the global livestock industries, affecting animal production and leading to economic losses. Research has made progress in understanding the impacts of heat stress on oxidative stress, immune responses, and developing interventions to improve farm animal health. Attention to the crosstalk between the immune system and oxidative stress, and the use of antioxidants as potential strategies to alleviate heat stress, are important considerations in mitigating the impacts of heat stress on farm animals.
