Major Shortening of the Patellar Tendon During Septic Two-Stage Knee Arthroplasty Revision Using Static Spacers

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the possible alterations in extensor mechanisms during septic two-stage revision knee arthroplasty (TKA) treated with a static spacer. The results showed that in some patients, there was a significant and irreversible shortening of the patellar tendon. Age and preoperative C-reactive protein level were found to be correlated with patellar tendon shortening.
