Manganese-methionine chelate improves antioxidant activity, immune system and egg manganese enrichment in the aged laying hens

Mohammad Reza Khoshbin et al.

Summary: The study investigated the effects of organic and inorganic sources of manganese on the health and manganese deposition in older laying hens. The results showed that supplementation with organic manganese chelate improved eggshell quality, increased manganese deposition, enhanced antioxidant capacity and immune response, and improved laying performance and feed conversion ratio.

Role of zinc-methionine chelate on bone health and eggshell quality in late-phase laying hens

A. D. Niknia et al.

Summary: This experiment aimed to assess the effects of including zinc-methionine chelate and zinc sulfate in the diet of laying hens at the end of a production cycle on bone status and eggshell properties. The results showed that both zinc sulfate and zinc-methionine chelate treatments significantly increased feed intake and tibia ash compared to the control treatment. Zinc-methionine chelate improved the cortical thickness of tibia in laying hens. The supplementation of zinc improved mineralization in bone tissue and did not compromise eggshell quality.

Effect of advanced chelate compounds-based mineral supplement in laying hen diet on the performance, egg quality, yolk mineral content, fatty acid composition, and oxidative status

Hossein Ali Ghasemi et al.

Summary: The study aimed to determine the efficiency of advanced chelate compounds-based trace minerals in laying hens. Results showed that supplementation with up to 66% OTM improved laying performance, lipid and mineral composition of yolk, and oxidative status in both serum and yolk. Among the treatments, OTM66 and OTM100 produced the best results in various aspects.

Improved offspring performance of broiler breeder hens fed amino acid complexed trace minerals

Thiago L. Noetzold et al.

Summary: The study evaluated the effects of partial substitution of inorganic trace minerals by amino acid complexed minerals on broiler breeder hens' performance and offspring. The results showed that partial substitution led to improved body weight gain and feed conversion ratio in the offspring.

Effect of genotype and egg weight on hatchability properties and embryonic mortality pattern of native chicken populations

Moataz Fathi et al.

Summary: The study aimed to investigate how the genetic background of chickens affects fertility, hatchability, and embryonic mortality pattern. It was found that naked neck or frizzle genotypes showed higher fertility and hatchability, emphasizing the importance of paying attention to egg size to achieve maximum hatchability performance. Multiple regression analysis identified settable egg weight and egg weight loss during incubation as key factors influencing the weight of hatched chicks.

Effects of Zinc Methionine Hydroxy Analog Chelate on Laying Performance, Serum Hormone Levels, and Expression of Reproductive Axis Related Genes in Aged Broiler Breeders

Bowen Yang et al.

Summary: This study investigated the effects of a novel zinc methionine hydroxy analog chelate (Zn-MHA) as a substitute for inorganic zinc in broiler breeders. The results showed that dietary supplementation with 75 mg/kg Zn-MHA improved laying performance and reproductive performance in broiler breeders, and regulated the expression levels of reproductive axis-related genes and serum hormone levels.

The effects of chelated micro-elements feeding in broiler breeder hens and their progeny: A review

Farhang Faghih-Mohammadi et al.

Summary: Chelated micro-elements have positive effects on the internal and external egg quality of broiler breeder hens. They also improve fertility, hatchability, and reduce mortality of progeny. Additionally, chelated micro-elements have no negative impact on blood biochemistry or the immune system of broiler breeder hens and decrease cholesterol and triglycerides levels.

Effects of broiler breeder age on immune system development of progeny

Januaria Silva Santos et al.

Summary: The objective of this study was to determine the effects of breeder age on digestive and immune system development, as well as the transfer of IgY from breeder to offspring. The results showed that older breeders had better immune capacity and transferred more IgY to the offspring. Meanwhile, the youngest breeders showed a better immune response to vaccination.

Effect of Dietary Chlorogenic Acid on Growth Performance, Antioxidant Function, and Immune Response of Broiler Breeders under Immune Stress and Stocking Density Stress

Dongying Bai et al.

Summary: This study investigated the effects of dietary chlorogenic acid supplementation on broiler breeders exposed to immune stress and high stocking density stress. The results showed that chlorogenic acid increased feed intake and altered the immune and antioxidant functions of the broiler breeders under stress. Overall, dietary inclusion of 1 g/kg chlorogenic acid could increase feed intake and alleviate the effects of stress in poultry.
