Coalescence, the thermal model and multi-fragmentation: the energy and volume dependence of light nuclei production in heavy ion collisions

Paula Hillmann et al.

Summary: We present the results of using a phase space coalescence approach to describe experimental data at different beam energies, finding that this method is able to qualitatively describe the data with a fixed set of parameters, although some systematic deviations and discrepancies in triton multiplicities are observed at low beam energies.

Deuteron yields from heavy-ion collisions at energies available at the CERN Large Hadron Collider: Continuum correlations and in-medium effects

Benjamin Doenigus et al.

Summary: This article investigates the production of light nuclei in heavy-ion collisions at extreme energies, focusing on the deuteron case. By using a Gibbs ensemble and quantum statistical approaches, the nonequilibrium evolution of the expanding fireball and correlations in the strongly interacting and hot system, including bound-state formation, are studied. The yields of deuteron production are calculated and compared with observations at the LHC.

Production characteristics of light (anti-)nuclei from (anti-)nucleon coalescence in heavy ion collisions at energies employed at the RHIC beam energy scan

Xiang-Yu Zhao et al.

Summary: In this study, we investigate the production mechanism of light nuclei and antinuclei in relativistic heavy ion collisions using the quark combination model. We derive analytic formulas for the momentum distributions of different light nuclei and successfully reproduce the experimental data. The study also reveals interesting behaviors of the yields and yield ratios of different light nuclei as a function of collision energy.

Cluster and hypercluster production in relativistic heavy-ion collisions within the parton-hadron-quantum-molecular-dynamics approach

Susanne Glaessel et al.

Summary: This study focuses on the production of clusters and hypernuclei in relativistic heavy-ion collisions using the PHQMD approach. The PHQMD model allows for the dynamic formation of clusters and the investigation of their time evolution. The results are compared with experimental data and provide important insights into the puzzle of ice in fire phenomenon observed in heavy-ion collisions.

Light Nuclei (d, t) Production in Au plus Au Collisions at √sNN=7.7-200 GeV

Dingwei Zhang

Summary: This study investigates the production of light nuclei in Au+Au collisions to explore the possibility of finding QCD phase transitions and/or critical points in high-energy nuclear collisions, where a non-monotonic energy dependence with a peak around 20-30 GeV was observed.

Nonmonotonic Energy Dependence of Net-Proton Number Fluctuations

J. Adam et al.

Summary: The nonmonotonic variation in the kurtosis times variance of the net-proton number distribution with increasing collision energy suggests a possible signature for the quantum chromodynamics critical point. This evidence was observed in central gold-on-gold collisions at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider, while noncentral collisions and models without a critical point exhibit monotonic variations.

Effects of QCD critical point on light nuclei production

Kai-Jia Sun et al.

Summary: The nucleon coalescence model is used to study the effects of the QCD critical point on light nuclei production in relativistic heavy-ion collisions. The study shows that the yield ratio of proton, deuteron, and triton increases with nucleon density correlation length, making it a sensitive probe of the QCD critical phenomenon. Further discussions are made on the relationship between QCD phase transitions and the collision energy dependence of the yield ratio.

Multiplicity scaling of light nuclei production in relativistic heavy-ion collisions

Wenbin Zhao et al.

Summary: By studying the multiplicity dependence of deuteron and triton production in different collision models and energies, a scaling behavior of the ratio of proton, deuteron, and triton yields with increasing charged particle multiplicity is observed, which can be explained by the interaction between the sizes of light nuclei and the nucleon emission source.

Deuteron production in relativistic heavy ion collisions via stochastic multiparticle reactions

J. Staudenmaier et al.

Summary: In this study, deuteron production via deuteron pion and nucleon catalysis reactions is investigated using stochastic multiparticle reactions for the first time. The impact of multiparticle collisions on the time required for deuterons to reach partial chemical equilibrium with nucleons is analyzed, showing a substantial reduction. Additionally, the final yield of deuterons is found to be practically independent from the number of deuterons at particlization, confirming previous study results.

Update of the three-fluid hydrodynamics-based event simulator: Light-nuclei production in heavy-ion collisions

M. Kozhevnikova et al.

Summary: An update of the event generator based on three-fluid dynamics was presented, with modifications to simulate light-nuclei production and adjust the hadronic resonances table for better consistency. The updated generator successfully reproduced light nuclei data without additional parameters.
