Monte Carlo study of duality and the Berezinskii-Kosterlitz-Thouless phase transitions of the two-dimensional q-state clock model in flow representations

Hao Chen et al.

Summary: In this study, we conducted a worm-type simulation of the two-dimensional q-state clock model and observed two BKT phase transitions as temperature decreases. By analyzing susceptibilitylike quantities using finite-size scaling, we determined more precise critical points and found that each point in the critical region exhibits a pair of anomalous dimensions. Additionally, we discovered that the self-dual points behave independently of system size in the large -q limit. The exponent eta at beta sd is consistent with 1/q within statistical error as long as q ≥ 5. Based on these findings, we further conjecture the universality of eta(beta sd) = 1/q for systems in the q-state clock universality class.

Foliated order parameter in a fracton phase transition

Mohammad Hossein Zarei et al.

Summary: Finding suitable indicators is crucial for characterizing quantum phase transitions, especially for fracton phases. In this study, we analyze the phase transition in the X-cube model and identify a first-order quantum phase transition from a highly entangled type-I fracton phase to a magnetized phase. We show that the global entanglement and a nonlocal order parameter can capture the features of fracton phase transitions and distinguish them from topological phases.

Multipartite entanglement of the topologically ordered state in a perturbed toric code

Yu-Ran Zhang et al.

Summary: We demonstrate that multipartite entanglement witnessed by the quantum Fisher information can characterize topological quantum phase transitions in the spin-21 toric code model. We identify the topological order by its scaling behavior using the ground state's quantum Fisher information density. We also investigate the thermalization and disorder-assisted stabilization of topological order using the multipartite entanglement witness.

Tensor-network renormalization approach to the q-state clock model

Guanrong Li et al.

Summary: In this study, we simulate the phase diagram and critical behavior of the q-state clock model on the square lattice using the state-of-the-art loop-TNR algorithm. We accurately determine the phase transition points and calculate the conformal scaling dimensions to determine the radius R of the compactified boson theories. We find that the high temperature phase transition point aligns with the BKT transition prediction.

Global entanglement in a topological quantum phase transition

Elahe Samimi et al.

Summary: In this paper, the concept of multipartite entanglement is used to study topological quantum phase transitions. The results show that there is a continuous and sharp transition of global entanglement from a maximum value in the topological phase to zero in the magnetized phase. The introduction of conditional global entanglement provides a good measure of multipartite entanglement in TQPTs.

Computable and Operationally Meaningful Multipartite Entanglement Measures

Jacob L. Beckey et al.

Summary: In this work, a family of multipartite entanglement measures called concentratable entanglements is introduced, providing a general framework for quantifying multipartite entanglement. These measures do not increase, on average, under local operations and classical communications, and have an operational meaning in terms of probabilistic concentration of entanglement into Bell pairs. Furthermore, these measures can be efficiently estimated on a quantum computer through a parallelized SWAP test, paving the way for measuring multipartite entanglement on quantum devices.

Matrix product states and projected entangled pair states: Concepts, symmetries, theorems

J. Ignacio Cirac et al.

Summary: The theory of entanglement provides a new language for describing interactions and correlations in many-body systems, with vocabulary consisting of qubits and entangled pairs, and syntax provided by tensor networks. Matrix product states and projected entangled pair states describe how entanglement is routed, act as a novel type of nonlocal order parameter, and their symmetries reflect global entanglement patterns. Tensor networks enable the construction of real-space renormalization group flows and fixed points, and are used to examine the entanglement structure of states with topological quantum order.

Fidelity and entanglement entropy for infinite-order phase transitions

Jin Zhang

Summary: This study examines the fidelity and entanglement entropy of ground states in quantum systems with infinite-order quantum phase transitions, focusing on the O(2) model with different spin truncations. The research shows the characteristics of peak values in fidelity susceptibility for different transitions and the behavior of block entanglement entropy derivative with respect to the coupling constant. The findings demonstrate the effectiveness and accuracy of using finite-size scaling methods to detect infinite-order quantum phase transitions.
