Almost unbiased ridge estimator in the gamma regression model

Muhammad Amin et al.

Summary: This article introduces the almost unbiased gamma ridge regression estimator (AUGRRE) based on the gamma ridge regression estimator (GRRE), and proposes some shrinkage parameters for the AUGRRE. The performance of the AUGRRE is compared with the existing GRRE and maximum likelihood estimator using different shrinkage parameters. A Monte Carlo simulation and a real-life dataset are used to assess the performance of the estimators, showing the superiority of AUGRRE over GRRE and maximum likelihood estimator for the gamma regression model with collinear explanatory variables.

Bayesian estimation of ridge parameter under different loss functions

Muhammad Amin et al.

Summary: In this study, new Bayesian ridge parameters are proposed to address the issue of multicollinearity in linear regression modeling. Simulation and real application results show that these new ridge parameters outperform other loss functions as well as the MLE and ordinary ridge regression estimator, particularly under the Precautionary loss function.

A modified one parameter Liu estimator for Conway-Maxwell Poisson response model

Faiza Sami et al.

Summary: In this study, a modified estimator was proposed for the Conway Maxwell Poisson regression model in the presence of multicollinearity among the regressors. The theoretical properties of the proposed estimator were derived and compared with biased estimators. The proposed estimator outperformed classical MLE and other biased estimators in terms of minimum MSE and mean absolute error criterion based on simulation and real applications.

On the ridge estimation of the Conway-Maxwell Poisson regression model with multicollinearity: Methods and applications

Faiza Sami et al.

Summary: The Conway-Maxwell Poisson (COMP) model is a flexible count data model that addresses over and under dispersion. Ridge regression estimators are proposed to handle multicollinearity in the COMP regression model, with mean squared error (MSE) used as the performance evaluation criteria. The evaluation through simulation studies and real applications shows the superiority of the proposed estimator in dealing with multicollinearity.

Summary: The recent development of the Bell Liu regression model aims to address the issue of multicollinearity in the Bell regression model and introduces new Liu parameters. Estimating the Unrestricted and Restricted Liu Estimators for the Poisson Regression Model: Method and Application

Kristofer Mansson et al.

Summary: This paper explores both unrestricted and restricted Liu estimators in the context of multicollinearity in the Poisson regression model, introducing new estimators for the shrinkage parameter. Through simulation and empirical application, it is found that the restricted estimator outperforms the unrestricted one, with the restricted Liu estimator showing superior performance to both the unrestricted Liu and restricted Liu estimators. This new method is therefore preferred when the coefficient vector may belong to a linear sub-space.

James Stein Estimator for the Inverse Gaussian Regression Model

Muhammad Nauman Akram et al.

Summary: This paper introduces the inverse Gaussian James-Stein estimator (IGJSE) to address multicollinearity in regression models and compares its performance with other estimation methods through theoretical comparisons and Monte Carlo simulation. The findings demonstrate that IGJSE consistently outperforms other methods in various situations, especially when dealing with correlated explanatory variables.
