Single-cell transcriptome profiling of the vaginal wall in women with severe anterior vaginal prolapse

Yaqian Li et al.

Summary: Anterior vaginal prolapse (AVP), the most common form of pelvic organ prolapse, has deleterious effects on women's health. A study using single-cell RNA-seq to construct a transcriptomic atlas of vaginal wall cells from AVP patients found that extracellular matrix dysregulation and immune reaction are associated with AVP. The research provides a valuable resource for deciphering the cellular heterogeneity and the molecular mechanisms underlying severe AVP.

Genome and Metabolome MS-Based Mining of a Marine Strain of Aspergillus affinis

Micael F. M. Goncalves et al.

Summary: This study focused on the genetic and metabolic diversity of Aspergillus affinis CMG 70 from sea water and other species in section Circumdati. Metabolomic analysis revealed the salt-dependent metabolite profiles of A. affinis CMG 70, including various bioactive compounds. Comparative genome analysis of 17 genomes from 16 Aspergillus species showed abundant CAZymes, secondary metabolite BGCs, and transporters, highlighting the molecular diversity within this fungal section.
