A practical flow synthesis of hydrazine derivatives from alcohols

In this article, we showcase the utilization of continuous flow technology for the synthesis of hydrazine derivatives through deoxygenation of free alcohols using di-tert-butylazodicarboxylate. This straightforward method demonstrates excellent tolerance towards various functional groups and allows for large-scale synthesis and late-stage functionalization. Furthermore, it presents a pathway to access three families of pharmacological compounds.
Herein we demonstrate the application of continuous flow technology to the synthesis of hydrazine derivatives by deoxygenation of free alcohols with di-tert-butylazodicarboxylate. This operationally simple protocol has excellent functional group tolerance and enables large-scale synthesis and late-stage functionalization. It also provides access to three families of pharmacological compounds.
