Magnetic mesocellular foams with nickel complexes: as efficient and reusable nanocatalysts for the synthesis of symmetrical and asymmetrical diaryl chalcogenides

Zeinab Shirvandi et al.

Summary: In this study, magnetic mesocellular foam (M-MCF) silica nanoparticles were prepared by inserting magnetic nanoparticles into the pores of mesocellular foams, and functionalizing the inner surface. The resulting nanocatalyst exhibited high activity and reusability in C-S and C-Se bond formation reactions.

Palladium complex embedded crosslinked polystyrene nanofibers as a green and efficient heterogeneous catalyst for coupling reactions

Benben Zhang et al.

Summary: A simple and green chemical modification method combined with electrospinning technique was used to incorporate palladium active species into crosslinked polystyrene nanofibers, resulting in an efficient and stable heterogeneous palladium catalyst (Pd@CPS). The Pd@CPS catalyst exhibited high catalytic activities and recyclabilities for Suzuki and Heck reactions of aromatic iodides, with coupling yields exceeding 88%. The ultrafine fiber structure and embedment of palladium active species inside the nanofibers contributed to the high activities and stabilities of the prepared Pd@CPS catalyst.

Textural and photocatalytic characteristics of iron-cobalt based nanocomposites supported on SBA-15: Synergistic effect between Fe 2+and Fe 0 on photoactivity

Monickarla Teixeira Pegado da Silva et al.

Summary: This study investigates the synthesis of iron-cobalt based nanocomposites supported on SBA-15 and their porosity and photocatalytic activity in methylene blue degradation. The silica support is essential for optimizing the photocatalytic activity of Fe and Co species, favoring the accessibility of active sites. The presence of phase mixture Fe2SiO4 and Fe7Co3 in OAM-SBA-15 sample enhances the photocatalytic activity of methylene blue due to the synergistic effect between Fe2+ and Fe0.

Enhancement of Hydrothermal Stability and CO2 Adsorption of Mg-MOF-74/MCF Composites

Chunling Xin et al.

Summary: The hierarchical porous composite Mg-MOF-74/MCFs were successfully synthesized with a simple and facile method under in situ solvothermal conditions. The composites exhibit improved CO2 adsorption performance, especially after hydrothermal treatment, showing enhanced total CO2 adsorption capacity. The results suggest that the composites have potential applications in CO2 capture and storage due to their enhanced stability and adsorption properties compared to pristine Mg-MOF-74.
