Adaptive sensitive frequency band selection for VMD to identify defective components of an axial piston pump

Anil Kumar et al.

Summary: This study proposes a methodology for adaptive sensitive frequency band selection using single valued neutrosophic entropy based on variational mode decomposition (VMD) to identify defective components in an axial pump. The study applies VMD to decompose vibration signals into modes, and extracts the lower and upper bounds of energy readings for different defect conditions. These energy intervals are converted into single valued neutrosophic sets (SVNSs), and neutrosophic entropy measure is used to quantify the non-linear connection between each bearing defect condition and frequency bands. The mode with the maximum neutrosophic entropy value is selected as the most sensitive frequency band for envelope demodulation to find defective components.

The Traverse Symplectic Correlation-Gram (TSCgram): A New and Effective Method of Optimal Demodulation Band Selection for Rolling Bearing

Jinde Zheng et al.

Summary: Resonance demodulation is a commonly used method for obtaining fault information, with the main challenge being to find a suitable frequency band for demodulation. Autogram is a method recently proposed for optimal demodulation frequency band selection utilizing a binary tree structure. However, the frequency band information obtained by Autogram can be easily missed. To address this issue, a 1/3 binary tree structure is used to segment the frequency domain and improve Autogram's segmentation accuracy. Despite these improvements, the method proposed in this article, TSCgram, overcomes the shortcomings of Autogram and offers better fault diagnostic results for rolling bearing analysis.
